Well... I had image verification on previoiusly,

I just switched it to reCAPTCHA which should make a large difference.

That is very easily bypassed by bots.

On another forum the guy that runs the site typed the verification code into the image on the home page. I do not recall a single bot post in 2+ years. You can see it clearly on the homepage. From what I understand, bots just read code and text and can not identify what is contained in an image.

On NA registration requires a captcha AND first post has to be in the intro section before the user can see the rest of the board...

I've tried re-captcha, gd random based images, and questions, which are all easily defeated by bots as they just have a real user verify whats in it.

I'll change it to an intro post a little later today
