nah...I never said anyone had to vote for him or that if you didn't you were racist. That video does change my perspective a bit, but again...it's five minutes or less in more the 20 years at the church. I'm not defending Wright saying it, I just don't vilify anyone who attended his church during that time just because they heard it.

As for McCains attendance vs. Obama.... McCain has missed 412 votes vs. Obama's 295 during the 110th Congress.....meaning McCain has missed more votes than he's made it for (64.1%) vs (Obama's 45.9% absent)

As for the votes he missed.... http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/m000303/votes/missed/

You really dont want to compare thier attendance/voting records... if you look closer you'll see that yes, Obama was there more, but he voted "present" on a HUGE number of votes, rather than "yes" or "no". Is "present" better than not being there? I dunno.

Here is where it gets tricky, I'll agree. By being there he had the ability to vote if it appeared that his vote was needed on a bill (the results appear before voting actually ends IIRC). Since this is an election year, it was probably to his advantage to not take a stance one way or the other on some issues unless it was apparent that his vote would indeed make a difference OR if he wanted to have it on his record of being for/against an issue.

Is this right/wrong? I dunno either, it does appear to me that he at least cared enough about an issue to sit through the vote to see how it was faring and to cast a decisive vote if needed.

wow chuck, theres alot of things you dont seem to take into account with obama. Im not gonna waste my time looking up stuff for you, but there is so much out there its rediculous. How about Obama NOT supporting the rights of babies born live in a failed abortion? Now im somewhat pro-choice, but late term (sucking out there brains or born prior to self support) abortions are not my thing. That kind of thing is simply immoral and i think if a child is born living, it has all the right to care of any human being.
Now Obama listened to alot of testimony from one nurse in particular at a hospital where this was happening. You should look up the interview with her on youtube or hannity.com . After hearing how they were tossing these living children into a utility room and leaving them to die at the request of the parents, he still voted against the bill put forth to make this kind of thing illegal.
Thats just one of many of the bills he "voted on" and made excuses about. I honestly could give 2 shits if hes ever voted on anything, the fact that he voted that way against a very hard line moral value i have ends it. If he told me he would make me rich as hell and powerful, i still wouldnt vote for him for this one fact. Now i could bring up things like this all day, but if you cant see past all the nazi-esque propaganda from him, you arent worth my time.

Also would like to note, im not pro-mcCain, but at least he stands for his beleifs and moral authority.

I just want to add one more thing, since i wont reply to this for a day or 2 probably. What is the presidents most important job, the highest priority?Commander of the armed forces.*

Its not economics, or foreign relations, they hire people for advice on that stuff.*

The fact that the closest Obama has gotten to the armed forces is (for all intents and purposes) not supporting, not willing to support or pay for, and all around demoralizing the military is sickening.* He was one of the heads of the "soliders have lost the war, they are rapists and murderers" clan.* He refused to visit soliders in the hospital, he mocks them, the list goes on and on and on...

Now mccain on the other hand, hes been there.* Hes been through hell and lived, experienced and saw what himself and fellow soliders had to go through.* He proudly stood up for his oath, and for his freinds that were sharing his experience.* He knows how the system works, he knows what they want and need to operate efficiently and with good morale.Once again, the stark difference here is laughable.*

If you interviewed for a job that required 3 tasks.* One was very very important, say a nuclear plant in your town, and the other 2 just things to do to kill time between the first.* Say you were very good at the first, and so-so on the other 2.* If another guy that had no experiece at all in the first, but a little better than you in the other 2 BS jobs got hired, wouldnt you feel unsafe?* Would you trust him to make descisions on a scale this large?* The big red light is going off and all he can do is stutter and say um while looking for the book or someone to tell him what to do, while you know the exact answer to solve the issue. In other words, the guy that got your job is a fucking moron, have fun

2 points I must make about the entire election thing:

                      1. I HIGHLY doubt anyone here is going to change anyone elses mind about who they prefer and will vote for...if one candidate does something the other side doesn't like, they'll tear them to shreds over it...whereas if it was their candidate who did the exact same thing, they'd be holding them high over their heads touting how great they are for doing it...

                      which brings me to

2)I think the Obama worship in the country is fascinating, and sad at the same time. People are ragging on McCain for wanting to postpone his campaigning while he tries to deal with the financial and economic issues we're facing. I have more than a good hunch that if Obama had decided to do this, everyone who already worships him as though he can do no wrong would be touting how HE CARES SO MUCH FOR HIS COUNTRY THAT HE IS WILLING TO PUT OFF A CAMPAIGN TO HELP SAVE US FROM POSSIBLE ECONOMIC DISASTER. But since it's McCain, he's just someone who can't multitask and is trying to win points.
