Darin Dichiara's Supra is a pretty awesome street car, he drives it with the A/C on all the time and runs consistent high 8 second 1/4 miles.

08 GT500. 500 ponies under my foot, leather, cruise, traction control for slippery conditions. Comfy, big, and fast enough for a "street" car. Oh and orgasm inducing supercharger whine. Close second would be the previously stated Audi RS4 wagon, or a 2007 CTS-V.

An ultimate street car probably has 4 doors, at least.

I drove a 2001 Audi S8 last weekend. Except for the automatic transmission, that thing is probably pretty close. It's big advantage over an M5 would be AWD, which is quite helpful in this part of the country.

            Snow tires 🙂

                I'll take a 911 Turbo.

I'll see your 911 Turbo and raise you with a GT3-RS.

But that is def. a badass T/A. IMO, a good street car would be something like a modded 03-04 Cobra, Corvette, Evo/STi, etc.

Vehicles already in the upper echelon that pull something better than a 13.9 off the showroom floor, and can hit low 12's high 11's with minimal work.

HA that is not a "livable drag car", he drives that thing pretty much every day. You see, for the 75% of people that live in this country, you can drive these things all winter. I drove my Buick around in the snow on the drag radials quite a few times. Otherwise i would change tires, and yes i did drive it for a whole winter when it was my only car. Also i drove my GTO in the snow alot, about 3 months when i felt like it. This isnt "its your only car for life" obviously if your gonna put that kind of time and money into something your not gonna drive it behind a salt truck. christ i thought that would be obvious

I apologize, I haven't drived a high horsepower rwd car in the winter. I thought awd w/snows was the best of the best, but apparently a '<u>perfect</u> street car' lies in a rwd platform........:icon_scratch: I didn't say you couldn't drive the car, but in my opinion, if you had THAT car you posted and drove it in the winter, I think it would struggle (hence the "I'd love to see that thing in winter"). Sure it would get places, but not safely....that's all I was saying. I wasn't trying to attack your thread making skillz or your manhood status on the internet.

Please continue with your thread kind sir, and I apologize for going off topic to address something I should have laughed off.

Until you hit that button and then you need a new tranny...

I would love a new GTR, but would buy a C6 Z06 over it.

The solution is pretty simple, don't hit the button.
I just love the way the look and all the features, speed isn't everything.

You will not be able to hit the button on a new model. Starting in 2010, the GTR will not come with launch control. GTR without the launch control is much slower.

I wonder how long the tranny will last with out launch control....

I don't understand why you would need to launch it. It would be plenty fast for me, especially for a street car.

too many cars that would be on my list. But if I had to choose, I would have to say a '71 Cuda with a modern muscle car chassis. and a Twin turbo v8 in the 7-800hp range.
