Drift Event!!!?!!?!

I need to know who out there would actually want a drift event here in Fargo or Grand Forks.. Who would pay $50-$100 for an all day drift session? I am looking into it to see if I can make it happen but I can't make it happen if only 3 people will show up. It would involve people pre paying and promoting the hell out of it.. The insurance is a killer. So the more the better.
I don't know if I will be able to make this happen or not. I know we have 6 races and 2 autocross' and 3 car shows to host. But I want one more thing to worry about. So damnit let's make this summer one to remember.
If we have enough support I have a feeling I can get it to happen.
please give me some feedback on if you guys like this idea and would actually participate.

I have a feeing this summer will be one to remember. That would be awesome to have a drift event around here some where! Too bad my cars not really a drifter or else I would enter. I'm pretty sure there's alot of hard core drifters out there.

yeah, not many traditional drift cars on here (AE86's or 240SX's...maybe some of the RX7 and S2K guys will try it....hard to say.) Hope it happens though...might wanna post this on MNsportcompacts.net since a few of those guys I know drift @ St Cloud and Dakota County. Or go to www.aarrf.com and talk to Llew, he is very active in the MN drift community and would be good to have for promotional reasons.

HAHA one time, we lifted my buddies hyundai accent up and put mcdonalds trays under his front wheels(in the school parking lot) and he spun out for like 20 minutes until he figured out what happened -

i don't think having a "drift event" would be a good idea around here. it doesn't seem like anyone (that i have seen) understands the concept of true drifting... they just consider losing traction and sliding to be drifting.
whoo! i can drift across the icy parking lot in my civic! i can't control it, but i'm drifting!
i'm not sure what else to suggest that would help to further the scene, but i think that a sliding contest would give the wrong impression -

not even worth trying if you don't have RWD. You will lose.

I have what I would suspect to be a great drifting car but I don't know if I'm prepaired to put it through that sort of abuse. And if you don't think it's abusive look at some of the cars that slip up even the least little bit. It's a great idea but I cant afford to replace my tires after a track day.
