If you actually watched the coronation.... err oath of office, you'd see that Obama screwed up first, talking over the top of Roberts while he was speaking the first sentence. Then Roberts got a word out of place in the second sentence after that.

in the oath is the phrase " ... that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States." But Roberts rearranged the order of the words, not saying "faithfully" until after "president of the United States."
That appeared to throw Obama off. He stopped abruptly at the word "execute."
Recognizing something was off, Roberts then repeated the phrase, putting "faithfully" in the right place but without repeating "execute."
But Obama then repeated Roberts' original, incorrect version: "... the office of president of the United States faithfully."
So no...Roberts screwed up first, Obama realized it after he said the word "execute"; Roberts tried to correct it though Obama started speaking over the top of him and repeated the wrong verbage. Remember, Obama was reciting it, Roberts was READING it...I'm sure I would have done similar to what Obama did and repeat what the guy reading the script is saying if I were in his shoes.
Edit: You are right, he did start with the "I Barack Hussein Obama do solemly swear..." part before Roberts finished with the "do solemnly swear to execute" part....that might have thrown them both off...but who cares....he's the new "decider", he gets to have his Bushism just like the presidents before him.

Roberts was NOT reading it. He was the first supreme court justice to attempt to recite it from memory in quite some time.
