Let me know what you have, what kinda shape it's in, and how much. Needs to be DOHC, and would prefer VTEC motor, but would consider an LS or B20 also.I have a ls/vtec longblock... Otherwise, how complete do u want the shortblock... we have a B16 with a bad piston, and I think 1990tsi might have a ls shortblock still that was in good shape

I don't need it super complete. It's gonna get resleeved, new pistons, rods, etc. So if it doesn't have that stuff I don't care.
I appreciate your response. I would definitely prefer something a bit bigger then the b16.
What are you asking for the ls/vtec longblock.

tintmasters has a b18 shortblock in their showroom (sleeved, o-ring, pistons, rods, etc...) call shane.they should really think about lowering the price of that short block so it can sell. Its been $3500 for like 4 years now

that and i will put money on it needing to be torn down and checked. because i don't think assembly lube last 4 years.

He was charging exactly what the wholesale invoice said, zero profit. It has been a long time, and if someone walked in with some cash and offered a reasonable amount, I'd bet it would sell. Price is very high, but I am pretty positive there isn't a better built block in the area, just more than likely overkill for most of the builds in this area, as it was originally intended for a "drag car" with a lot of power.

like someone stated, im pretty sure assembly lube doesn't last 4 years.Do more research before quoting someone else. Most assembly lubes last for years. Google: How long does assembly lube last in a motor, then read. There are options for engine builders to use if the motor is going into action quickly, but I would assume someone that builds a motor and ships it off for a 'long term build' as this one was, would use a thicker substance. Do you think every crate 350 Oreilly's sells was built last month?
Regardless of the fact, the motor sits at $3000, offer $2XXX and use the discounted value to do a teardown and relube? It's a Honda motor, it can be reassembled/relubed pretty easily, and if you save $500+, I'd consider it worth it.....and to be honest, I should probably not talk about how much stuff costs on here, being I just got a PM from a potential buyer and he may not want everyone to know how much he is spending on a motor......
