Hey guys im still alive and every new car we got on the way out to the farm my dad would have to see how fast it would go. I used to sleep in the box of our old s10 on long road trips. We had a rwd mercur scorpio and my dad would always whip shittys in it. when I was little he was whippin shitties in the south high parking lot with my dads old f150, and a cop stoped us and just gave a warning. And I know at least 80% of your parents did the same with you when you were kids. And we are all still alive arnt we?

I just trust MYSELF and my driving with MY children. ^^^^and yes i believe 80% of "our parents" did those things, my dad let me steer since i was 2 or 3 and always drove "fast" if you will. I started driving in my moms neighborhood when i was 12 learning to drive that is...i know most of you had your licence when you were 14...shit i woulda killed to have that option when i was 14..lol

I would assume that is a safe distance, but never underestimate the power of a Freitag.

I wouldn't go as far as 80% of parents drove like dumbasses when we were children... I know when I was little I had to have a seatbelt on before the car was put in motion. But then again i'm not redneck...

i was always taught the same...what does it matter if your a redneck or a city boy or whatever? I honestly think its kinda like a preperation(sp?) to know how to handle a car and know when and when not to fuck off

Well in your case, you should be more responsible with children in the back... what would have happened if you hit a rut in the road, hit the gravel and rolled it... where if you were in a lane, you wouldn't have hit it. How do you get prepared to handle a car?? Just because your dad was a "good" driver doesn't mean you will be. It's not a genetic trait. It's if you have respect for it and actually use that little thing called YOUR BRAIN

I use MY BRAIN...this wasnt something to be aimed at me for letting someone pass when i was on the shoulder...i was half on and off???? What the fuck is any of your concern? I feel i am a very good driver...So i lead something on..i miss the old crazy days...and every once in awhile its nice to see it..but there are times when i drive like a granny..trust me even my wife makes fun of me lol. When my daughter was born for the first 6 months i drove 5 under the limit or sometimes only went to go do things by myself cuz at the time i didnt TRUST myself..nor the other drivers. Yes i do know good driving isnt a genetic trait..its your experience..and i still dont have great experience..i believe every driver is still learning. Wouldnt you agree?

Use your brain by making a 3 lane road out of 2 lane for even a second? If I had a kid I wouldnt even consider doing that, especially going 75 mph and no shoulder room on the side of me.

Probably would've been smarter to stay in the right lane, let them pass in the left lane in front of me then let them have their fun while you stayed back.

But what we would know, I didn't pass responsible parenthood like you apparently did.

BTW a very good driver with not much experience? Uhhh...

PS PS my parents didnt drive like that, so I'm part of the 20%. Guess when I have kids I can't pull off a shoulder move.

If i saw a car going 3 wide on the interstate with car seats in the back, i would call social services. I'm not saying anything against you (Itrfan) but im saying if i was driving down the road, and saw that, id phone it in.
