Agreed! 225 on a 9.5" wheel is retarded....

stretched tires are for women that don't need to worry about putting power down.

I know that Max is looking to try out drifting a few times this year at events in Minneapolis. The stretched tire setup provides an extremely stiff sidewall, thus making tire roll nearly impossible, and providing a VERY stiff tire setup (easier to spin, and consistant run after run). Stretching a tire is not a ghetto or stupid idea, but is it as safe as a traditional mount? No. Our corporate Falken meeting last year was half spent discussing stretching a tire and which of Falken tires are created with a 'stretch' in mind. Added sidewall strength, and different compounds within the tire to allow for those interested in drifting/stretching on Falkens a bit of peace of mind.

Some do it to make a wheel tire fitment fit a certain car (meaning they typically bought a wheel wider than the fender area would allow, or wrong offset wheel/wrong tire)

Some do it for less sidewall roll, allowing for a very stiff contact patch

Some do it to look like their favorite drifter/show car/style

Well jason you are correct. Not only did I do it so the fitment would work without overfenders but running the harder sidewall also. I plan to do as many drift events as possible this year which means I will be changing my tire setups if I find I need something different. This more of a trial and error thing for me. I don't care if you guys dislike it, I am not a carshow fan boy so this was done for function more than looks. I have spoke with justin pawlak (pro formulaD driver) many times about the plus and minus of the tire wheel combo I went with and he has given me pros and cons on both and the pros over wiegh the cons.

Also parker when it hits a curb the wheel says fuck off. Owell.
