When i was sick all this week with pneumonia, i got a really crazy idea for my uber slow cavalier. Would it work putting a WRX or a STi crate engine in a 92 4-cylinder body style, and then turbocharging the hell out of it? Also, would it be possible to upgrade the suspension? And just for kicks while we're at it, would it be possible to make my car AWD? And, could my car be changed from automatic transmission to manual? And almost done, what else would i need to do to turn a cavalier into a good car for the track (a different engine besides a WRX or an STi crate engine)? Finally, if this would be possible, how much would it cost? Also, i'm not against welding, or modifing the guts of the car. I just want it to appear as close to stock as possible on the outside. (doesn't codeine cough syrup make you wonder funny things?)

Ok here's the deal, you can do this. Anything is possible with enough money.

Nick at SLS will do this hole conversion for:
          $100,000,000,000.99

Edit: Here I will humor you, with some price guesses.

          $5000 Sti crate engine
          $1000 Custom engine mounts
$4000 Fabbing it and buying AWD parts

Try that on for size not to mention its going to take you years to work the bugs out.
After all that you would be a god in the eyes of your cavalier buddys.

Drivetrain alone isn't going to make any car good at the track. The cav has SHITTY suspension and weak chassis. It's not always about power. The WRX can do well but a smart dude in a miata can kicks it's ass.

Yes, thank you for mocking me. I would appreceate if next time instead of ridiculing me for my ignorance when it comes to the auto mechanical world, you would simply say that it is not feasibly possible and leave it at that.

EDIT::: that was a little harsh. i apoligize. I am interested in getting a new car, and i love my car that i have now. I want it to go much faster, so that's why i was asking if it would be possible to do that i listed above.

He quoted a price for a hole conversion, I think the whole conversion will be less 😉

BTW, anything is possible, I saw a RWD bigblock V8 Powered Cav on eBay not too long ago. It was in Wisconsin even.

I'm with Bad93ex sell the cav and get a dsm. You want AWD and Turbo so why not get both stock!

Well, see, i also think it would be kinda funny to see a cavalier that would be as fast as a WRX or a STi. It would also be a fun car to take to the track. And i also heard DSMs are kinda notorious for breaking down...

If you Cavalier is going to be as fast as a Sti or Wrx it is going to be way more unstable then any DSM.

As said above cavalier's suck at autocross.

What I'm trying to say is your starting way below the "Bar". Do whatever you want, but your cavalier is not going to be the car you want with out alot of money.

Actually I didn't notice he has a 92. Those are at least a little better than the 95+ cavaliers. I knew a guy who used to autox a blue two door 3.1V6. Of course the body couldn't take the abuse and started coming apart at the seams but that's beside the point.

Can some one tell me how much it would cost to make my Honda Crx Si into a space ship. I want it to be able to go into deep space, and hover at Mac 10 or faster. I also want a hyper flux fusion drive installed.

I know its crazy but how much would this cost?
