What do I do?

So ever since I've moved into my apartment(May 15th) we have had 3 or 4 cats roaming our apartment grounds. 3 of them belong to the neighboring building's resident manager. the other belongs to the old lady that lives next to me in my building. Many times during the summer we hear meowing through our screen door and look out to see a cat scratching at our screen door trying to get it. One time we had actually had a cat enter our apartment through our patio door and jump onto our recliner in our living room. Not only do I hate the filthy disguisting creatures but I am severely allergic to them. I first started contacting the apartment manager several weeks ago to complain. they said they would send a letter. Cats got put on leashes for about 2 or 3 days and then they were back out roaming. I have personally seen them in the street hiding under cars and have almost run them over. I contact the rental company again and they say they will take care of it. Nothing happens. So I get a hold of the Community Service officer in Fargo(animal control) and they tell me that unless the cat is roaming in the streets or on city property they can't do anything about it since the whole property is owned by the same company. I contacted the rental agencie once again this morning, and told them what the officer had told me. She told me that since there is no police report, their lawyer has advised them not to pursue an eviction. So basically I'm fucked, neither the cops or my apartment managers will do anything for me. What do I do?

My thoughts so far
A. Set up a live cat trap.I think this would only be a short term solution and would ultimately just piss off my neighbors.
B. COntact the Housing bureau in fargo, try to get out of my lease and move.

Beyond that find out who the owners are and tell them they ahve been warned and if the warnings have not been heeded you will call animal services and have them taken care of. That is a risk to your health and you have to watch out for yourself. I would give them one last warning then it's all fair game though... and as much as i hate to admit it... the airsoft idea can be a pretty good time

Joel, I have a pellet rifle if you need to use it. Or a large dog that "loves" cats.

Well if animal control won't do anything, and the management company won't do anything, make them do something. Give them 2 options.

You will shoot the cats and end the headache once and for all
You will have you lease terminated without fee's. Threaten with the legal actions. People like to make peace when you threaten with legal actions.

that would be fun but if they ever saw you shoot them or see a BB stuck in there skin or something the owners might not be happy and the cat could like freak out and run around your apartment... eventually maybe the cats will learn to leave you alone if you did that and you'd start to sharpen your aim

that would be good but he is allergic to them so he'd have to have someone else shave them and do it outside his apartment but that would be funnier then shit lol if you do shave the cats collect all the hair up and dump it in front of the owners door in the hallway.. people will start complaining of that to but make sure you don't get caught doing that

I don't know if shooting and killing the cats in the apartment building would be a great idea but if you took them else where after you trapped them and shot them like out in the country that would do it
that is another good idea if you can sue do it because at least you would get money out of all the trouble and if it keeps happening keep suing them and if you get tired of it trap them and take them to the pound or take them to the country and shoot them

that is another good idea if you can sue do it because at least you would get money out of all the trouble and if it keeps happening keep suing them and if you get tired of it trap them and take them to the pound or take them to the country and shoot them

the point wouldn't be to get money. it would be to have his lease terminated without all the bullshit fee's that go with it (most places won't even let you terminate your lease)

We have a 10/22 with powderless shells (trust me nobody will hear a thing)
Set some cat food out spiked with antifreeze or something
Spray paint them florecest colors
Live trap 2, tie their tails together and throw them over a fence, railing, etc...

Brandon, lets not make it illegal. None of anything you mentioned is. Joel, if you cant move, talk to the humane society and see what they think you can do. It may be a long shot but it's still a shot. Like link said, keep bitching. Sooner or later, someone will take action.

Pretty much I think if someone complained to my dad about it, he would tell the owners, other than that you can't really force them to keep the cats inside.. Best bet is the humane society because they will take it probably as being endangered and come and get it and find a better home...
