my time in japan...
-
a little background...
Japan has its own telecommuncations network...one being a company known as Softbank. Softbank signature is a white japanese dog known as "otousan" which translates as father being that he is the father of this atomic family.
The series of commercials depict a series of deals or specials the company puts out.
A few key things i should note...the black male is using a very formal and polite use of japanese...something you wouldnt usually use in a family style setting...its an almost obedient and observant tone.
the young female is using very rude and unmannered japanese...
the mother...is well being the mother...
Anyways this could be a complete waste of my time showing you all this...maybe it takes some sense of japanese culture..I thought it was funny.

I might have a little more insight than most, maybe from watching anime over the years, because I find these pretty damn funny.
As with almost all Japanese things like this though, there's always a WTF factor involved .:D
I don't think a person is ever completely desensitized from the things that come from Japanese culture. Just when you think you've seen it all you get surprised by something new, whether it be something cute or completely disgusting, they seem to like both over there.:) -
You guys might get a kick out of this: http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=11526

What happens when the girl who wins the "biggest Harry Potter Fan in Japan" contest gets to meet the cast in person?

It took all I could not to throat punch most of them for being retarded.

The entire fucking hotel smelled like B.O. and people were playing with 5 foot cardboard swords all night.
Super gay.

I don't see myself doing the whole cosplay thing, but I guess those that do are at least being creative and getting out and doing something they like, as long as it doesn't rule there life. At least there not pale and pasty WoW players, whose lives seem ruled by it, that only get out long enough to buy the new expansion pack.

To each his own I guess. -
all i gotta say...shinjuku kabaroke....ive never been solicitated so many times in my life....
but yeah japanese humor maybe a bit strange if you dont have some sort of background to it...
on a side note...i missed my last train back to my place so i slept at an internet cafe before i had to go to class...actually pretty damn comfortable. 13 bucks (1300 yen) gives you 6 hours in a private room and lal the drinks your want. 400 yen (4 dollars) gives you a shower...pretty nice i must say.
anyways if you guys find yourself in japan up till september 15th...hit me up.
second second side note...drinking is mad cheap...2 bucks for pint glass of vodka ginger ale...unheard of (at least in chicago)...
-
its because asians dont have that fold in their eyes. thats highly regarded among asians..especially koreans (no offense...i think)

Sounds like a Rabu Hoteru (Love Hotel). You sure you didn't hook up with somebody.

I'm kind of envious, I've always wanted to go to Japan and explore the mysterious orient.

-
love hotel is around 8000 yen...fucking expensive just to bring a girl back...kinda makes sex complicated you know?
guess thats why there are internet cafes...haha...jk.
another one for the road....

I actually dont listen to much music here as far as jpop goes...im really into techno. Shinichi Osawa is pretty sick. im going to be going here next week to see lupe.
get this...cover is 30 bucks plus a free drink...table service is 20 bucks a head....versus 200 dollar bottle to sit at a table. I love Japan.
side note: club has 3 different dance floors and a pool.
-
from what i understand jim is that is a common surgery done in asia because lots of asians dont have the double lid.
-
on a side note...japanese girls have fucked up teeth...though its becoming less so. finally understood a dental plan
