The footbar/transmount bar must be within 16" of the front pillar bar where it ties into the rocker tube, not from the firewall; so that bar was ok. The opening right behind and to the outside of the drivers helmet was too large. When a helmet is placed in the opening if a straightedge comes in contact with the helmet at any point when set against the back of the helmet bars it requires a 3/4" horizontal bar between the rear helmet bar and the outside corner helmet bar. Does that seem to be what your 25.1e spec says?
