sorry to bring this back from the dead, but, a hot rod shop in lake park is going to do my car, and they want to do something wild and show worthy with paint...I want red and black, then interior is being taken care of too...and there is a wheel shop there who is donating the wheels and tires to me....my car is going to be the sexiest Z31 ever haha....you guys have any ideas for wild paintjobs? ive got a few but id like some opinions.

Don't over do it. Simple 2 tone (red/black) if thats what you want to do. Blend it with the body lines, don't go whacked out like some of these 2 tone paint jobs i see people do.

I just got an idea...what if I did a left to right, right to left red fade to black metalic?...or have the red fade to black from the top...blend it in?

Ohhh or a red to black from front to back...Or if you wanted to get really fancy you could have them make it look like the front is red as if the black paint pealed off and have it slowly go like have way down the car so the front is red and the back is black and its like the car was red but got painted black but it got pealed back which showed the red! lol jp jeff, I am sure they can come up with some unique that will look pretty kick ass. But idk about the whole Top to bottom thing, or at least fading like that.

soooo many red and black cars already!

I also agree simple looks best. Don't want to do something of the wall and then not like it in the future. Maybe use the body lines for a 2 tone. If you want crazy, go really crazy.

Do you at least get to pic the wheels?

dont go with black!!!!!!!!!!! if its gonna be painted change it up go with i nice blue and get bronze or gold wheels. if u went with black it wont be as noticable that u did something to the car then going with blue or so.

yes I get to choose the wheels, as for color I want a metalic blue, or a 350Z bronze? I do agree, keeping it black would give a less noticeable change, I really like blue...blue with bronze maybe?..or chrome and black?

I got an idea...blue with a two tone of silver with black wheels and chrome lip?

Don't with chrome. the only chrome that should be on the wheel would be the lip imo. As for the paint scheme thats really all up to. like everyone has said though less is more. go to over the top and it will just be another one of those cars that tried to hard and failed.

that black in silver that z31 posted up looks pretty sweet. but if you really wanted a single tone paint job, tell them that. i mean the car IS for you and all. but i guess the decision is ultimately up to you
