Well the belt problems went away for the most part but today my alternator belt fell off...went out bought a new one and changed it real fast but when i started the engine it squealed just like it did only the belt had come halfway off the pulley...i was just thinking "what the fuck?"...loosened it and MADE SURE it was all the way on all pulleys...i just cranked the motor and it didnt come off....but when i started the motor again the outer ring of the pulley moved in and out, while the center of the pulley remained in place...im really hoping its not what i think it is but could this just be a really fucked up pulley?

Sounds like you have a bad crank pulley. This is common, there is a layer of rubber between the pulley center and outer portions. This is because it is not just a pulley, but a harmonic dampner as well. The rubber gets old and seperates over time. So, take it off and get a used or new one!

exactly what nate says... you want to keep the harmonic dampener of the oem pulley.

both mine and 99slowgsx have had to replace our crank pulley bc they have seperated...

so yeah, even on a 97 and 99 it happens.
