Pretty sure that cat would mess up any dog. Once that cat has its claws in a dog the dog would be toast. As far as taking down a deer, the closest thing to dogs in the wild would probably be wolves, which are gonna be bigger than anyones dog, and it takes a whole pack of them to take down a big animal like a deer.

That's if they could actually catch a deer and if it was completely defenseless. Corner a deer and see how tough they can be. Thats the only way you'll ever see a dog even get a deer to a face to face match up because they wont be able to sneak up on and ambush a deer like a wild cat could.
