We did some initial testing with a wastegate on the intercooler piping tonite. The theory is to stage the car with the wastegate open, allowing all the air coming out of the turbo to just go to atmosphere, which will let the turbo spin like a mofo. Then when you launch you slam the wastegate closed forcing all the air in the engine and get instant full boost. We got a few bugs to work out, but so far it look promising. If nothing else, it fun to make a lot of noise in the garage. LOL

I think it was more dangerous for the sap standing next to the engine actuating the wastegate. lol We'll have it controlled with CO2 once it gets ironed out.

        :drunken_smilie:

Oh, look at the fender/headlight right by Matt as I let off the throttle the second time. The IC pipe blew off, I'm amazed how much it moved the fender.

Yes. You see it quite a bit on the high hp cars.

You are determined to take that nice part and thrash it arent you? Cant you put some tabs on those pipes and couple them together more securely? That headlight is taking a beating lately. Looks like Matt is getting used to it popping off. He hardly flinched that time.
