2010 SP Motorcycle Race Series rules/classes

Disclaimer: As with any set of rules, there may be loopholes to be found and exploited. I ask that racers observe a "spirit of competition", and regard the rules for their intended meanings. If you have a question about them, please ask.
NHRA RULES - These are the current NHRA rules for the ET/MX class.
-All riders must be equipped with a leather jacket, leather gloves, over the ankle boots and an NHRA approved helmet
-Any motorcycle that runs quicker than 11.00 must be equipped with a functional ignition kill tether.
-Any rider exceeding 120 mph on a motorcycle, must be wearing leather pants.
-Any rider that runs quicker than 10.00 must hold a valid NHRA competion license.GENERAL RULES
These rules apply to the SPORTBIKE (Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Heavy Hitters, Supersport & Unlimited) classes:
General Safety: All bikes must be approved during NHRA technical inspection.Frame: OEM factory stock frames must be used. Their general shape may not be changed ("cut rails" allowed). No raking or deraking of the steering neck allowed. Mounting tabs/holes may be attached/tapped to mount accessories. Frames my be sanded/polished. No custom/aftermarket frames allowed.
Subframes do not need to be stock.
Wheelbase: There is no restriction on minimum/maximum wheelbase, except in the SUPERSPORT class.
Bodywork/Wheels: There is no restriction on bodywork or wheels. Aftermarket ok.
Suspension: Any aftermarket front/rear suspension allowed. No minimum ground clearance.
Electrical: Stutter boxes, 2-steps, or other electronics designed to allow “electrically assisted” launches are NOT allowed.
Starting System: Functional on-board starting systems required. No external starters, batteries, or boosters allowed. Battery chargers are allowed.
Lighting: Lighting is not required.
Brakes: At least one front and one rear brake required. All brakes must be fully
functional.Exhaust: Any exhaust ok.
Clutch: Slider clutches prohibited. Lock up clutches ok. Multistage lock up clutches (MTC, Gann, Hays) will move the entrant UP one class.
Tires: DOT tires allowed. Road race slicks allowed. Flat slicks prohibited.
Wheelie Bars: Wheelie bars prohibited.
Fuel: Any fuel ok.
Internal Motor Work: Any level of modification is allowed (Within the general rules. This excludes the SUPERSPORT class.) The original displacement of the bike is used for classification (we reserve the right to alter classes as we see fit).
Forced Induction: If the bike is using forced induction (nitrous, turbocharging or supercharging), the bike will move UP one class. i.e. A turbo 1000 will race in the Unlimited class or a nitrous 600 will be a middleweight.

Lightweight (LW) (600cc and Sport Twins)
Honda CBR 600 (F2, F3, F4, F4i, RR), Yamaha R6, YZF 600, FZR 600, Kawasaki ZX-6, ZX-6R (includes RR and 636cc models), Suzuki GSXR 600, Triumph, Honda RC51, Suzuki SV, Buell, Ducati, ApriliaMiddleweight (MW) (750cc and 900/929/954cc)
Honda CBR 900/929/954 RR, Kawasaki ZX-7R/9R, Suzuki GSXR750, Yamaha R7, Yamaha R1(carbureted), Yamaha FZR 1000 (carbureted)Heavyweight (HW) (1000cc)
Yamaha R1(Fuel Injected), Kawasaki ZX10R ,Suzuki GSXR1000, Honda CBR1000RRUnlimited (UL) (Big Bore)

-Any engine modification permitted.
-Any forced induction permittedHeavy Hitters (HH)
Any bike that does not fit into either Unlimited or Cruiser Unlimited.
Rider must weigh at least 240 lbs in jeans and a t-shirt.Supersport (SS) (1000cc class bikes, not all Heavyweight acceptable models are included. Hayabusa, ZX-14 and ZX-12 included as well)
Yamaha R1(carbureted & FI), Kawasaki ZX10R, Suzuki GSXR1000, Honda CBR1000RR, Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZX-14, Kawasaki ZX-12These rules will supersede the "Sportbike" general rules if there is a conflict.

Must have stock swingarm. Wheelbase will be dictated by the limits of the swingarm. The swingarm may not be modified to allow additional wheelbase from stock. The swingarm must be from the model year of the bike.

Stock long block (performance-wise). The motor must be of the model year of the bike or an identical replacement. The following pieces may not have an aftermarket/modified replacement installed in their place: crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, cylinder head, camshafts, camshaft sprockets, valves, valve springs, water pump, oil pan

The following modifications are allowed:
-Aftermarket cosmetic pieces (engine covers, quick access clutch covers, emissions block off plates, rearsets etc…)
-Removal of emissions equipment (PAIR valves, etc….)
-Removal of secondary throttle blades
-Basically, the long block may have no performance improvements over stock, aside from the removal of emissions equipment. -
Only bolt on modifications allowed. (i.e. exhaust systems, power commanders, ECU flashes, ignition controllers, chassis lowering/strap, gearing changes, air filters, velocity stacks, aftermarket wheels & wheel bearings, etc…… )

Stock fuel systems. Inline fuel controllers ok (Power Commander, Bazzaz, Yosh box, Two Brothers box, etc..)

Stock-type clutch setups. Aftermarket clutch pieces allowed, i.e. fibers, steels, baskets, slipper-disabling mods, springs. No lock-ups.

No air/CO2/electric PUSHBUTTON or FOOT ACTUATED shifters. No air/CO2/electric shifting mechanism may be attached to the shift linkage during a run. (i.e. If the bike is equipped with an air shifter, to be Supersport legal, the shift cylinder must be removed). The shifting must be done via the stock shifting linkage.

Any fuel may be used.

Must be naturally aspirated.
These rules apply to the CRUISER classes:

- (Metric Stock, Bagger Stock and H-D Stock): OEM stock Metric/H-D frames must be used. Their general shape may not be changed. Mounting tabs/holes may be attached/tapped to mount accessories.
-(Cruiser Mod 1, Cruiser Mod 2, Metric Mod and Cruiser Unlimited): Any frame or frame modifications allowed.
Bodywork/Wheels: There is no restriction on bodywork or wheels. Aftermarket ok.
Suspension: Any aftermarket front/rear suspension allowed. No minimum ground clearance.
Electrical: Stutter boxes, 2-steps, or other electronics designed to allow “assisted” launches are not allowed.
Starting System: Functional on-board starting systems required. No external starters, batteries, or boosters allowed. Battery chargers are allowed.
Lighting: Lighting not required.
Brakes: At least one front and one rear brake required. All brakes must be fully functional.
Exhaust: Any exhaust ok.

Metric Stock (MS)
Only Metric/Japanese V-twin cruisers allowed. (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Victory, Triumph etc…..)
*Harley-Davidson V-Rod is included in this class
-No customs/choppers.
-Only bolt on modifications allowed. (i.e. exhaust systems, power commanders, carburetor adjustments, throttle bodies, aftermarket controls, air/quick shifters, chassis lowering devices, weight removal, gearing changes, air filters etc…… )
-No engine modifications allowed.
-No compression releases allowed.
-Must be naturally aspirated.Metric Mod (MM)
-Only Metric/Japanese cruisers allowed. (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Victory, Triumph etc…..)
*Harley-Davidson V-Rod is included in this class
-No customs/choppers.
-Any engine modifications allowed.
-Must be naturally aspirated.Harley-Davidson Stock (HDS)
-Only Harley-Davidson, pushrod-motored, air cooled motorcycles allowed.
Included Models: Softail, Sportster, Dyna
-No customs/choppers.
-Only bolt on modifications allowed. (i.e. exhaust systems, power commanders, carburetor adjustments, throttle bodies, aftermarket controls, air/quick shifters, chassis lowering devices, weight removal, gearing changes, air filters etc…… )
-No engine modifications allowed.
-No compression releases allowed.
-Must be naturally aspirated.Bagger Stock (BGR)
-Only Harley-Davidson “Baggers” allowed. Bikes MUST have bags on when making passes down the track.
Included Models: Road King, Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide
-Only bolt on modifications allowed. (i.e. exhaust systems, power commanders, carburetor adjustments, throttle bodies, aftermarket controls, air/quick shifters, chassis lowering devices, gearing changes, air filters etc…… )
-No engine modifications allowed.
-No compression releases allowed.
-Must be naturally aspirated.Cruiser Mod (CM)
-Any Harley-Davidson/custom/chopper with a pushrod-style, air-cooled motor allowed
-119 cubic inch limit
-Any engine modification allowed.
-Must be naturally aspirated.Cruiser Unlimited (CUL)
-Any Harley-Davidson/custom/chopper pushrod-style, air-cooled motor allowed
-120 cubic inches and bigger
-Any engine modification allowed.
-Turbochargers, Superchargers and Nitrous Oxide allowed.
-Metric bikes with forced induction. -
