Sorry, this is actually unfair to JN, you cut off the rest of his quote which is the qualifier to his statement. He was saying that VVT-i motors spool the turbos faster, but because of the weaker rods most people go with the standard version...

Yeah, now that I read it like 3 or 4 times I guess it makes sence, but when I originally read it I was left thinking "what the hell?" It just seems worded weird to me. Or maybe I just suck at reading, thats always a possibility too.
