What does it need to run? I just bought an extra laptop from a guy that has a couple of Compaqs to sell. I think one of them is a 2.8ghz, mobile P4

Its gonna be a track laptop. It'll run Dynojet's Powercommander software, and our dataloggers software.

I just got a email flier from tigerdirect.com and they have 250gig netbooks for $290.
Plenty of room for tuning software and track side porn. 😄

Can I get one with XP? Some of this software doesn't like Vista or 7.

I know the first generation of Asus's eeepc has XP drivers available. It seems reasonable that most of the "netbooks" will have XP drivers available because they couldn't handle the bloat of Vista.

                          www.woot.com has a deal on a netbook. It's running 7 though. And it's a Gateway.

My Aspire One came with XP a year and a half ago, but I'm not sure what they generally come with now. FWIW, I threw some more memory in it and it runs 7 Pro perfectly.

You can run programs in XP mode if they don't normally work on Win7.
I actually had to use this to play Star Wars: Rogue Squadron a few weeks back. 😄

Yeahhhh, that's not something I would assume when buying something. That is so hit or miss, it's not definite.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!
