I was thinking about this the other day and came up with this...Oil is flamable...oil is in the water, water evaporates and turns into clouds, oil is now in clouds, hurricanes have clouds...hurricanes have lightning, lightning is hot (hotter than the sun I think?...hstory channel) lightning in clouds with oil in it = fire...and remember its in the water, sooo....as it rains because rain is water and oil is in water...it will rain fire :D, 2012!!!

I can't even think about that situation without getting furious.Agreed.
I do have a question for thrash on this situation, and I'm looking for a serious response:
There are many that think that government should not regulate anything and the free market should be responsible for all of their own actions. I agree for the most part, however I believe that when a private company is using "public" land to conduct business (in this case drilling and/or oil exploration) that there needs to be a set of guidelines in place to prevent/minimize damages when catastrophes such as this do happen since it's impact is on the public as well as private entities that also use this resource (gulf) as a source of recreation/income. So the question is: Thrash, is this an example where you feel the government (or someone) should possibly have some oversight and/or regulatory position so that a "best practice" can be used going forward to ensure that all measures are in place to prevent/minimize the next disaster such as this?

The fangtooth is perhaps one of the creepiest looking animals on the face of the planet. The depths of the ocean wow me. Imagine what kinda stuff is down there yo.
On a more relevant note, this oil spill is tragic to say the least. It wow's me yet again that we have all this technology, but we cant stop a leaking pipe. I dont understand. I am sure there is a logical explanation, but It is all over my head.
