AC Stuff

Also when it gets humid a/c issues will multiply, a receiver dryer that's getting full will do that. While evacuating the system the dryer will be covered in frost if it's plugging up.It does seem to freak out when its humid... and work fairly well when its not. Should I bring it in to a place and get it evaced and recharged then? Or is there something else I should look at?

So I had hot air blowing out my passenger side vents, so I got one of those DIY r134a bottles with a guage and filled up my AC to the corresponding pressure on the gauge that said it was correct. I made sure the compressor was on and such.It worked great for a week or so, but now intermittently it just blows hot air out ALL the vents.
The belt to the compressor looks fine, and I don't think its the compressor itself.... could I have let Air in the system and thats what I'm experiencing now? It did vent a ltitle bit of it to get the pressure down from the lower port....
Any ideas? I'm a n00b
ok this is probably a dumb statement but,
you say your "passenger side" vents are blowing hot.... does this mean the driver side is still blowing cold?

Most places will charge you to evac the freon, then charge to put the same freon back in. The dryer should be inspected when evac'd though.

Our Ram started doing this when it was low on freon, haven't had time to drive it to check if the recharge fixed ours. Maybe it puts priority to the driver's side? Vehicles are getting so dang complicated these days.

Yeah. The driver side was cold, passenger side was warm air. I read that it was prob because it was low on refrigerant, so I filled it up a bit, and referenced the gauge (i heard these are sort of junk though, as pressure doesnt matter, volume does?)

If it's super expensive I might just deal with it, it works, but kinda intermitently when its humid.

Yup, was working great for like a week.Still blows cold air from both sides when its working.
lol that is weird haha
I was just curious if it was some sort of dual climate control fucking with you and not the actual system charge
but wouldn't be that if it fixed it for a short time when you charged it

Best bet is to call around to places that have a flat fee, should find a place to evac and recharge for under a hundred, ( I'm guessing Motorwerks isn't one of them, lol). When calling get the person's name that way you can ask for them once you get there.

Is your compressor kciking on and off? When it starts blowing warm air i would find out if the compressor stopped moving. If its to low or to high on refirgerant it could be shutting down the compressor. I would check that first then have a legit evac/recharge done.
If its only on one side that cold air is working it seems like a blend door issue or something but im not to familiar with bmw a/c systems and how all that is routed.
