In an "e-Interview" with Nevada News and Views, Angle had this to say when asked if there were any federal departments should would support eliminating:

QUESTION: Is there a Federal department/cabinet position you would support eliminating? Explain.

ANGLE: Yes. There are several Federal departments that are not covered by the Constitutional Federal enumerated powers clause and should be given back to the states per the Tenth amendment. Those cuts should include the Department of Education, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, IRS code, audit the FED leading to cuts, National Endowment of the Arts, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Planned Parenthood funding, funding of czars and more. I include these cuts in my economic policy for taking back our government.

she is actually one person i payed any attention to this year and i have to say some of that sounds a bit radical, too. i am not saying these departments/ agencies couldnt be doing a better a job, but eliminate them entirely? do you guys actually support this? or would voting reid out just be a vote for change?:p:

note: this is not an endorsement for reid, he is a turd

I think the EPA still has some value. The rest don't and could be eliminated IMO.

The R's don't have a chance at getting their agenda through.

What they can do now (if they choose), is to stop the insane stuff from being able to get through (like the healthcare bill, etc).

Now let's see if the Republican party actually does what they say they are going to do and shrink government and reduce spending. I have a feeling that this won't happen and it will be business as usual in Washington.......just like it is every time the opposing party takes office (IE, everyone is fiscally responsible when their party is trying to regain control and everyone spends like a liberal once they actually have power)

She didnt say they should be eliminated.... she said they should be given back to the states. A move I would fully agree with. State governments tend to do a much better job than the federal (one size fits all) government.

I do agree with this. I think we need to get back to the "big" state governments and a small Federal government. Nothing pisses me off more than when Washington forces their agenda on your state(see: Medical Marijuana, DUI BAC limit). Minnesota was the last state for the .08 to go into effect...because Washington was going to withhold federal highway funds. Bullshit.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

They were also the last state to raise the drinking age to 21, for the exact same reason they eventually did.

You meant except for Wyoming, Montana and a few other states, right?

But the point is still valid that the individual states are being forced to govern based on the laws of the federal gov't.

you dont think there should be a national standard in education or a combined effort to increase the use/advancement of alternative energy? i dont think these two should be left to the state to sort out, let alone the private sector.

i guess my point is, leaving all of these powers to the state would be a pretty radical move compared to reforming and investigating what is already in place. flipping the switch and delegating all of these matters to the states and expecting things to improve during the situation we are in just sounds ridiculous.

No.. The right to govern both education and energy should be state dependent. States rights are paramount to the health of America. To think anything else is ridiculous.

right, because the individual states have done a bang up job running their school districts and paying their teachers up until now. also, you read what you wanted to read. my point was doing these things NOW is absurd.
