need i reference the previous cancellations instead of trying for the next day? ie nothing at all when a saturday event was cancelled instead of hoping for sunday?
how about the fact that there is ALWAYS rain memorial day weekend? i can't remember a weekend without itWell as long as you can ALWAYS remember that there is rain on memorial day, you better tell IDR to cancel it just cause you know it ALWAYS rains... wow....

oh you stupid fucker, get off your soapbox and sit the fuck down...
The wonderful people at the track have lives too, I sure hope you realize that. It rains one day, they can't expect the entire staff to clear out their schedule for the next 3 days just incase they can "get the race in".
It will be cancelled if it rains or looks like a very good chance of rain....for good reason.
I'm sure it'll be rescheduled if it can...(Maybe a little overboard, but that first comment just turned me the wrong way this morning)

let's try to be a little more mature about this, eh? name-calling is definitely not in order.
actually, i would expect management to do whatever they can to open the track whenever they reasonably can... afterall, this is a capitalist society with a lust for money (as a whole). they have bills and wages to pay just like any business, and not being open is probably as painful to them as any other business.
personally, i would open and sell discounted tickets because there is no guarantee of a full day -

your thoughts...it'd work if there was a stronger following for drag racing in this area. Sure they could open the track up every weekend, or hell, one night a week like some tracks do, but I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't get crap for cars.

a) schedule conflicts - i make most of my money by working all weekend, hence the reason that i think the track should be open more often; i'm sure there are quite a few people like myself that refuse to take time off of work just to go drag racing.
b) it's not high priority -
yea...

perhaps there would be a larger crowd of patrons if the track was open more often AND more people knew about it... so i think interstate is either being lazy or shooting themselves in the foothighly doubt it. The automotive community isn't very large in the FM (and immediately surrounding) area, not enough to support a track by it's self IMO. That means pulling in cars from a distance, and I don't see these people making that trip every weekend, especially with something like the street-legal crowd..
As far as people not knowing about it... what else should they do? It's been advertised on the radio (I think it was on many of the clear channel stations)... I think it's down to word of mouth. There's only so much advertising a budget will allow.

i've taken off days to go to car shows, drag races and i know there are a ton of people on here who have also done the same..-YellowEvo-
not all of us have the same priorities.
my ideas of "fun" and the ideas that everyone has are often completely different. ie- i prefer to spend my weekends earning money and playing games at home instead of getting drunk, unlike +/-50% of the 14-30 crowd in this area.
i could go on a long rant about what i see as friction points between myself and the rest of society, but suffice to say that we don't agree on very many things -

it was initially intended as a complaint and a joke.
think of it this way... you're alone on a farm with a nearly cartilage-less knee, broken arm and no phone. on this farm there is a car with a burnt out clutch, a new clutch sitting on the seat, the shop manual and tools in the garage to replace said clutch; however, you've only changed a car's oil. you want a steak, but forgot to buy one from the schwan's man that morning and the store is 15 miles away. you could spend all day replacing the clutch to drive to the store, you could walk there and back, or just wait until the schwan's truck comes to the farm next week.
what do you do? obviously wait for the truck.
what will you do when you hear on the radio that schwan's isn't sending any drivers out all next week because there are forecasts for tornadoes all week?if that's a little too mentally involving for some of you, how about this: why do you people that watch football make jokes about "player x" fumbling the ball when he's hit from behind? think you could do better? why do you whine when "your team" doesn't win? think you could have won? how about when the coach makes a decision that you don't agree with? were you there? do you have all the facts about the situation?? i don't think so.
now what do you think? still think i'm so stupid for making a fairly weak complaint/joke? you'll be sure to notice all the anger and rage behind my words in the first post of this thread, because i am SO pissed off that the track day might be cancelled.
now, start taking shots at my dripping sarcasm, you know you want to.
