in having a cold air intake, you run the risk of hydro lock. So does an air bypass valve really work? its 300 bucks for an aem one. are there any other options? thanks

300 bucks?? you shouldnt be paying more than 50

edit: oh i realized you probably mean for the cai, not just the bypass valve

anyway aem is a good choice but its prolly all the same. i spent like 220 for my injen cai and prolly coulda got the same power results from a no-name one

I ran an AEM CAI with my EX and you don't have to worry as long as you don't drive through deep water. If you haven't bought an intake yet just get a eBay special.

ok well like today when half of moorhead was flooded. would an air bypass valve really be needed. Are they that reliable? i hear most cai can be converted into a short ram.
