Gunna bring this the the next Street Legal Thunder event
-
Well this past weekend was fun running my camaro. I want to go tot he next street legal thunder event in August and as I do not think my camaro could take another event like that. I am thought it would be funny to bring my old pile of crap ford pickup. What do you think? I think it would be quite funny, I baught the truck 3 years ago for $400 and used it when I was remodeling my shop. fast truck though and has a lot of torque, when idleing it shoots flames out the side exhaust. Just gotta fix the brakes.
Specs:
1972 Ford f-100 Pickup
390 Bigblock
bored .30 over
Mild performance cam
Ported Heads
Headers
Edelbrock Intake
Edelbrock Carb
Accel Distributor, coil and 8.8mm Race wires
Holly electric fuel pump
C-6 3spd auto tranny with shift kit
9in rear end

I would be pretty interested to see what it runs at the track. But better fix those breaks if you want to stop

Wanna sell that truck? I need a work vehicle
$600 takes the truck the way it sits, if you want it.
Sitting to the left of the truck is a 74 Trans Am body that has been tubbed and has a narrowed rear end. I baught it from a guy who was going to make it a drag car.

How reliable is that truck? Almost worth it for $600...EDIT: oh and how did it get an AMC engine in it? the 390 BB was the big bad AMX motor... 400hp from the factory.
If you think that is a AMC engine you need to get your head checked and stop working on cars. Frmo 1966 to 1975 Ford made the 390 Big Block V8. It was a high torque engine for towing and is considered one of the most indestructible engines that Ford built. Friend of mine drove his truck 30 miles with no oil and didn't hurt his 390, just to give you a idea of what It can put up with.
Engine starts great every time, I am not a Ford person, but this is one good running truck. Everything works, but the brakes all need to be gone through, rears stopped working completely. I drove it for 8 months to haul lumber for remodeling my place last year, and never had a problem.

Either I will bring the truck or my new Fiero. Don't know if I'll have the engine in it by august though.

The one pictures above it going to get $1500 in fiberglassing work in the next month or 2.

I actually got someone intrested in the truck, after posting it on here. Wow. If I couldn't ever sell it, I was going to find a old mustang to put the engine in.
But I think I will have the fiero done by the next drag event. Well see how fast a 180hp rear engine 5spd fiero will do.
