i dunno man. running tv and internet out of the same outlet isnt the best idea if you dont absolutely have to. thats probably part of the reason too.

but like chuck said.. if you get an amplifier it should work a lot better.

Thats how i have it set up and havent had any problems.... the only thing we had to do is have an amplifier hooked up, since we were running so many outlets with cable.

either get an amplifier or split the internet off the first or 2nd tap in the line...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

First, make sure your on the right track. Run the main cable to your modem and see if it works properly. If not, then the splitter isn't your problem. As far as a good splitter goes, try a reputable electronics place. S&S electronics maybe.

You won't find S&S electronics anymore they are now called Midstates Dist.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't live in the F/M area so I didn't know.

Shouldn't be a problem running a splitter, you will lose some bandwidth, but I doubt it would be enough for you to notice, I ran it like that at my old place and it worked fine. though i did have a similar problem of using a cheap and old splitter was causeing some problems I called cable one and they had a guy there within the hour(though I only lived 10 blocks from the main office) they gave me a new(cable one splitter) for free, took them 5 minutes, and they tested the jack to make sure it worked right. I would say call them, since it's free and they won't leave till it works perfect for ya, easiest way to go.
