why don't you take it somewhere and have the code scanner put on it.... if you find out what is throwing the check enging light I bet that would help you diagnose the problem.

more than likely an O2 sensor. go to advanced auto parts, theyll hook up a scan tool and find out what kind of code/codes your throwing for free.

an O2 sensor wont make the engine kill and start right back up. It might make it run rough as hell, but have never ever ran into one that will make it kill. Like they said, have it scanned and start from there. Welcome to the world of engine diagostics.

had the same thing happen on a Neon I used to own back in the day....was a plugged catalytic converter
