Timing belts, head gaskets and the suspension is the only major weak points on them. Other than that, they run forever like crazy, maybe burn a little oil when they get pretty old, but Im pretty sure that Im a honda freak for life now after owning 2.
From my experience, I recommend, if you can, to go as long as you can without buying a car, and save like hell. Stop spending money on the one you have, and save every penny you can. Itll pay off in the end. What got me is all my debts, but even then it is still worth it. Dont go with one too old otherwise youll regret it when you have to replace everything on it maintence wise like the brakes, belts, suspension, timing, ignition, etc, etc.
Also, if you find one, make sure to bring it to your mechanic to look at to find out everything that is wrong with it. We can find even the littlest thing that the everyday person may not know about because we deal with it on a daily basis. Trust me, it is worth the $25 to have it inspected. That way you can bring the sheet of all things needed to the owner and tell them that this needs to be done, I want it for less.
