Speaker Troubles
-
Ok so as most of you know I just got my stereo jacked so I'm stuck with my factory deck and some aftermarket 6x9s so i really get to hear every little thing outta those speakers...well anyway when i first got em they pounded like a 10'' and hit pretty much everything...after awhile they sounded blown so i replaced them with the same exact blaupunkt speakers...they are like from 3yrs ago...well anyway they sound blown when i have the balance exactly even but when i turn it to left or right they seem to bass really well and sound half way decent...but as soon as i turn it back to balanced they sound blown again and dont hit bass at all and just pretty much rattle with treble...I'm pretty sure this is exactly what happened with the first pair I thought was blown...so i can 99% guarantee its nothing to do with the head unit...but does anyone have any idea what the hell could be cause this? Please let me know!!
Thanks,
Tony -

there is almost no advantage to aftermarket wiring for speakers besides not having to make any splices. Anyone that thinks they can "hear" speaker wire or RCA cables needs to contact Autosound2000 ASAP and collect some cash from their challenge they've had out for the past 12 years....

lol....wow....okay chuck,,,,,run a stock cd player.....against a aftermarket cd player....aftermarket sounds 10000 times better...
most stock cd players put out like 50 watts max

Ok, I misread the whole fucking thing.....that was my bad, for some reason I read it as saying with stock wiring, not the stock radio....I stand corrected, but just for the record, you aren't going to find many (if any) aftermarket radios that produce more 50 watts RMS either....they may say 125 watts or whatever BS number they put up there, but they are flat out lying. Again, I WAS WRONG AND MISREAD THE ORIGINAL POST BY mwc1 THAT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY MY RESPONSE WAS ABOUT SPEAKER WIRE AND NOT FACTORY RADIOS.

probably the speaker polarity as mentioned above...btw sometimes it is adventageous to run a 6x9 out of phase (though it is EXTREMELY rare) as sometimes the wave lengths cancel each out if they are just the right distance apart from each other...
