Yeah, Chuck seems to always have something else going on when a track day comes along...I think he might be scared? We need Chuck and Stephen at the track, racing, and to quit being girls;)We've been busy!!
Seems there is something or another going on every weekend this summer! The one time we did go to Sabin, it got rained out. -

I am disliking dragracing for the same reasons so many people love it...its repetitive. blah blah, whine whine, ouch that sand hurts
.I summarized your previous post to conserve space. See tjamz previous post to read the full tale.
To me it seems much easier to compare a 1/4 mile time to someone across the country, than to some track time that usually only local people would know what they can run on. Real drag racing is pretty boring, the fun part is racing yourself, or your buddies, seeing who can run a faster time, etc. I don't think it would be much fun to be a "regular" drag racer just trying to run closer to the time that you dial in at than the guy next to you, woohoo, fun. It is fun to beat the crap out of your car and get every last HP out of it that you can. Then next time, try and beat your times from before, etc. From personal experience, meeting my goal of running a 10 was a really good feeling, not too much compares, except for a few things that I can't mention in here..

Nate's next post is going to be NWS.

LOL, nice summarization Nate. I am sure I'll make it to at least one day this summer. This year I kinda got into the exterior modification phase of my car...who knows, maybe I'll have to put in some 110 octane and crank the boost to 23 and see what happens
-
maybe i'll be able to get out to the track to this year.

Yeah me too... I was all telling my buddies about this fast Automatic WRX and then they shut the track down right as he was getting ready to go.
At least make a couple passes chuck... I wont be going to Auto-X in St. Cloud... need a rear fender delete kit for my bike first.

It's a 2 day event, you must be able to make it out to one day? There is another TM day scheduled in October I believe.
don't know. the way the next month looks it's work 6 days a week and ambulance shifts Sundays. Once we get into August it'll probably be more of the same or 7 days/week work.
Oh well, money is good right?
and 32 passes? psh, I can damn near make that in one event

Hmmm We Fest or the Track.... I'm going to We Fest

I might stop out one of the days for a little bit. Hopefully there will be a better turn out then last time and both lanes are open. Last time I got there and 15 min later the bosnians car broke and that wasted like an hour.

Ill bring the pony out to race that weekend though she does smoke like a mother fucker now....hoping for mid-high 13's

-
I hope to be there again, but not with the Camaro. I have beaten that car so bad, I don't think it will even do 14's anymore. I put 3,000 roadcourse miles on it this year and with a car with 150K on it, it needs a rebuild bad, tranny going out and engine is leaking oil.
I am hoping to bring one of my new toys, that is if I can get the fuel injection working right and get exhaust on it. Or what the hell, I could bring my girlfriends 4cyl fiero with 190K on it. I bet it would do a 20 sec 1/4 mile, lol.

Ok, here's my final analogy for those that want to argue that at least w/ 1/4 mile racing you can compare your results to someone in CA, FL, VT, IA, AK, AZ, AR, etc.... This is true, you can do that, however it is really similar to stereo competition. Drag racing is very much like SPL (sound pressure level), easy to measure results to verify how much power you are putting out. SQ (sound quality) is more similar to autocross, as it is more of an art to make all the components work together for a good balance. I've always been more of an SQ fan than SPL. Think about it, would you rather listen to 48 hertz all day long on your radio or would you rather listen to a wide spectrum of sounds covering nearly all octaves of human hearing?
