DSM/3S Ignition coil differences
-
Anyone know if the resistance values and voltages are the same? I know a lot of parts crossover between 2gs and 3/s. I cannot find anywhere the type of readings I should get when checking them. I have a copy of the Chrysler service manuals as well and even they are no help. Is the consesus on ignition coils to just toss a new set at your car if you are narrowing it down to them? I have in fact narrowed it down(the point im nearly positive they are the problem) but I like to be sure before spending money?
I tried getting the part number off them and and comparing it to the 2g DSMs as well and was again baffled by my lack of successs.
...anyone can help me ill give you a kiss... -
Im confused on what you mean by ignition coils.
On 2g DSM's we have a coilpack (for 4 cylinders) and an ignition transistor.
Here is a link to what the transistor is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7919445053&category=33689&sspagename=WDVW
I believe its teh same for 1g and 2g DSM's

Well if thats what hes talking about, he has 6 cylinders, we have 4. So thats why I was curious if he was talking about the transistor box.number of cylinders shouldnt matter...just cause i have six cylnders doesnt mean my injectors arnt the same as yours... O well just wondering if anyone knew off the tops of their heads.
