1/8 Mile Bracket Racing-Harvey ND

there was a gateway country in harvey? wtf
-
No, it was in Fargo in the old menards building. They went out of business, the stores did themselves across the nation. My manager use to be from there (Harvey)
Wish they were still open, hella good pay and easy work. I think one of the main reasons why they went out of business was due to EXTREME high compensation on low profit items.

ah my bad.

Well they spread way to thin and tried introducing a private label party for over 250 different products pushed within 2 Business Quarters. Almost unheard of in the industry that they are. They tried competing against Dell in the SMB (Small - Medium Sized Business) environment only to get pummeled by prices they just couldn't beat with there inferior supply chain management. Resources too little, product too many, and TCO (total cost of ownership) way to high to sustain a retail outlet venture. They had to shut it down. Hopefully Gateway will stay afloat. They also calculated budgets from numbers generated in Sept' 00 - which is unreasonable, since those particular quarters were extremely high thanks to the miseducation of the public and Y2k scare, everyone thought they had to buy a new computer. Gateway shoulda stuck with what they do best, keep the company small, make quality computers and support them with quality staff. When they started to move vendors on the support from pysches and homebased support being cut by over 45% they lost there edge. Only a matter of time before it happened, oh well.

Yes I know Chris very well, I graduated from HS with him...and drank WAAAYYYY too many beers with him. Did you know Shane Everett as well? He worked in the Fargo store for a couple of years before transferring to Mpls. Shane was also a classmate of mine. I haven't heard from Chris in a while now, but Shane just called me the other night to see if I wanted to go to w/ him and a bunch of our friends to Vegas for his 30th B-day, should be a good time.
I will definately be going to the races in Harvey and staying at my parents farm as the races are over 2 days (1st day is time trials & jackpot racing, 2nd day is time trials and brackets).

My dad grew up in fessenden

i definately can't wait till i turn 21, then im heading to vegas. i went there in february and got caught playing slots with my parents trying to win a 04 Viper at the MGM Grand so they made me go sit next to the lion cage. Their not very considerate in Vegas, even if you feet from a blackjack table just watching, they won't let you.
-
I know, been to Vegas many times...mostly for pleasure, but a few for business. Most fun I ever had was during CES while they had the Adult Video Industry convention there as well. For obvious reasons it was one of the coolest things I ever saw.
-
up where? Harvey or Vegas? Harvey, there will be some fast cars there...last time I watched a car go 4.694 in the 1/8. I have also witnessed a 149mph pass in the 1/8 as well. There won't be a whole lot of imports I'd imagine, its mostly muscle car country up there.
Now Vegas has some crazy rides (kinda goes w/o saying though doesn't it?)

Definately know Shane VERY VERY Well, still liking his celica? Haven't heard from him for awhile either. He use to be the store trainer here in Fargo, and he moved on up to a regional center ahwile back. What's he doing now a days? Tell him Adam says "hi"
-
Yeah, he is still liking his celica from what I can tell. Not sure exactly where he's working, last I heard he was working for the Democratic national party in MN, but that may or may not still be true. It's funny, I talk to him about 1-2 times a month and I never bother asking where he works now-a-days...
-
chuck I think he was talking vegas, not many people around here would celebrate their 21st b-day in harvey lol. Vegas has a lot of riced stangs, civics celicas ect. Once in a while you'll hit up a ferrari, lamborghini ect ect. I saw a bentley in front of the Ceasers Palace place one night. So yeah, you'll see exotic cars
-
I knew he meant Vegas for his B-day. But since he was posting in a thread about racing in Harvey, I thought he might have been wondering what kind of vehicles to expect to see at the track there.
