haha i dont think its gonna be anything close to that. I am friends with him and all the motor and tranny and what not prolly wont get touched. he is a person who likes the looks not speed.
Ok what would you rather have:
      1. A 00 mustang v6 auto that is riced out
      2. A 92 civic hb vx 5spd that is red with a small dent, very little surface rust and
some fade spots that is getting a compete GSR swap (b18c1 for those who dont
      know)
I like speed so that is why im getting the hatch and get the body work done later. How about you?

I beat the purple probe "previous owner" with my 94 buick roadmaster wagon. 🙂 Dam that probe is weak.

I bought this car for my fiance, she loved the car and it was cheap. We plan to change pretty much everything on the car except the color and the body kit. As for the supra idea, its cool but nuthin like that ne time soon. Yes we will be doin stuff to the engine on this one, and the V6 mustang, is for insurance reasons, It will be getting a cobra engine which I am currently saing for. I wanted my fiance to have a car before I got my engine, so it will be a lil while hopin to do the swap within 2 years.....I would love to say sooner but I have to be realistic i dont got the cash.

perhaps you should just put all your cash away until after you smash the mustang? at your age, you've got things to hit and people that are trying to hit you. i've been there, it's a bad idea to throw all your cash into something that is just going to die a not very spectacular death

Define "Cobra Motor" What year? Exact duplicate? cobra motor is a weak subject when it come to early svt's. Now if it's actually a 2000 cobra motor that is the 5.4. I'd shoot for a 03-04 cobra with a whipple supercharger. What are your plans? I would advise subscribing to -5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords- if you plan mods.

thats because in 2000 the only cobra made was a cobra R...and if you are gonna go with a 99 or 01 id get a 99 motor(tekskid(sp?) block) and a 01 tranny...but id try to get an intimidator motor and T5(i think?) tranny...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

No 01 or 02 cobra if I remember in my drunken mind. Screw all those tranny's, get a c4, they are the strongest in my opinion, and a lot of racers as well. intimidator motor is just a 4.6 with forged shit in it. Very good with the nicknames by the way.

Drunken minds get melvin details mixed up. I know there was not a cobra in 02. They definitely did wait until 03 for the big reveal, SVT has kind of a policy, they bring out a model when there is a model due for more hp, they wanted an all wheel drive contour (I think) But budget did not approve. Notice how they did not come with an svt for at least a year after the new model? They even waited for the 'vert version. It's not a constant, which is kinda nice, it creates a certail allure and exclusivity.

or find a MarkVIII motor, same tekskid block.

(still sounds like a shitload of hype to me...)

All i know is that he was talking about doing a cobra R swap with man. tranny to. The price we got is real close to $5,000 before labor for motor and tranny i think is what it was.

did you also think about new clutch and brake pedals, clutch master and slave cylender line for clutch mounting plates if they are differant between auto and manual and pieces around shifter, possibility or differant legnth driveshafts. im not really full on mustang knowledge person but i know the headaches with motor and tranny swaps from working on it in my 240sx

when swapping everything, it's all about personal preference; it isn't a matter of gains, but whether or not you can handle a manual transmission.

The mustangs use a mechanical cable for the clutch. Its not hydraulic. Thats why some people bitch that the clutch on a Mustang is too heavy. Personally, I like a heavier clutch.
