Does anyone know why mitsubishi didnt make a eclipse gsx after 99? I was thinking about this the other day and am really curious to why they are not made anymore.

The same reason Toyota stopped making the Supra, etc etc etc...

If there isn't a large demand for a car, and its not profitable for a company to make them, why would they continue to?

We're part of a small niche market that likes to go fast at the sacrafice of reliability.

3G's are a dime a dozen, how many Turbo 2G's do you actually see compared to NT 2G's?

There you go... the ultimate reason why mitsu stopped making awd turbo / turbo eclipses.

            To meet the niche market.

You don't see ad's on TV for EVO's, nor do you see as many of them as 3g's etc...

Its a specialized car, just like STi's, etc etc

So are you saying the niche market is back with cars like the Redline Cobalt, SRT-4, STi, EVO, RX-8, and GTO just to name a few?

i assume that the evo was bought here because mitsubishi saw how well subaru, audi, bmw, etc were doing with the "4 door sports car" and decided to tap into it.

im not sure about the GSX, but the supra and rx7 were still available in Japan up until recently, they just stopped selling them here because of sales declined.

Haha you just don't get it?

How many Superhcharged Colbats, SRT4's, STI's, Evo's RX8's and GTO's are there here in Fargo.

                    Got it?

Compare that number to how many 3G's there are around town.

Now are any of these AWD Turbo Coupes? No.

The fact of the matter is, there wasn't a market for them! Theres no debate here!

havent made a turbo eclipse since 99. they had planned on making one model of the new 4gs turbo ith an electronically controlled wastegate so you could decide when you wanted boost. Dont quote me on that, but thats what i thought.
and as much as I hate that there are no turbo e's being made, how many broken third gens do u see?

                          no race car? becuz homeowner...

Honestly the reason that the Supra and RX7 were quit being sold in the US was because they eventually priced themselves out of their target market.

I really wasn't trying to argue with Jim at all but I guess he took it that way. I just saw that maybe the automotive industry saw that this niche market was much larger than they anticipated and started to make or bring those vehicles here. It doesn't make any sense really for them to make them because they don't make money off of them.
