I am in need of a D16 motor for my civic. My motor is burning oil like crazy. Valve seals are shot. Cheaper to buy a new/rebuilt motor than it is to get mine rebuilt. I would prefer a D16 complete with a tranny so it is lees work to drop in.

      Hey,

If only your valve seals are shot its going to be cheaper to fix them then to replace the whole engine..

that seems a bit high, though I can't say for sure. Who gave you the quote? Honda dealer? If you feel comfortable about pulling the head yourself, give Brian @ sturdevants a call and see what he'd charge to do your head for you. I've heard nothing but great stuff about him.

For sure! Valve gastets are $32 for OEM replacements, shit I could put those in. ( Could but wont don't get these mixed up)

Or have SLS give you a quote dont just replace the hole engine.

valve seals, they go in between the valve stem and guide, seals them so no oil passes into the cylander
