this is exactly why nobody cares too much for police around here.

I agree with fallguy! Anyway ya we have been targeted. That means everyone with a F150 with loud pipes and the stereo crowd will be next. Oh well I have the Racing Beat exhaust so its pretty decent as far as noise. Its not obnoxious it just has a nice sound to it under WOT. Then again that damn exhaust costed $850 it better be good LOL! For the fart canners your days are numbered. I agree its just a ploy to target the import/tuner crowd though. The govt does not like people standing out of a crowd. They want everyone to blend in with each other. 4 years as a Jarhead taught me that LOL! Well tread lightly guys as SGT Studynko is around the corner waiting. (Cheech & Chongs up in smoke)

99% of N/A 4-cylinder cars with exhaust work are just as loud as trucks with exhaust work, it's just loud at different frequencies. I hear both kinds of vehicles just by sitting at home with my window open. The difference, if I may continue to make generalizations, is I rarely if ever see pickup truck drivers weaving between cars in busy traffic or cutting across two lanes with no turn signal.

I think my political motto will be this: "Fuck finding common ground in politics, lets find common sense"

I think this is interesting. I love the part in the paper, about the vehicles should not be making noise at night? What difference does that make. Does that mean at 10pm i cannot drive my car? Okay, then my neighbor can not mow his lawn at 7am, or at all since that is loud, and lasts for a longer period of time!
This also interests me... How many of you with "racer cars" drive them more than 5 months a yr? Does this mean they are going to get bored?
My third point... how many cops have just as loud of exhaust on their personal cars? I've personally seen quite a few.
I personally can not wait to see the results of this new policy. A year from now should be interesting, and more leverge when arguing the point of targeting the youth!
Everyone have fun!

Older cop driving around.....sees another old guy, his age, riding a nice harley with loud pipes. Cop also sees honda civic driven by a 19 year old kid...the civic is lowered, exhaust, and rims (nothing huge).
Who is the cop going to keep his eye on?
There is going to be such a biast towards us it just makes me sick....thats why RULES have to be specified....so we dont get pulled over just for being us.

Im a little frustrated w/ how the article came out and all the stuff i commented about that they decided to leave out. Basically they left out all the good/important stuff i had to say, but what do ya do? I knew that would happen. Brian and I discussed the whole thing earlier about what else i said that didn't make the paper.

The propensity to be stupid for a 40-50 year old man is much lower than a 18-22 year old, regardless of what each is driving. -

I had a set of Supertraps on my other truck with a 429 under the hood and I got pulled over for load pipes...this was in the cities and the cop said I had to go to the cop shop..so I drove over there and they had me rev the motor( pipes loud as hell) and he said that he had to ticket me...then I pulled out the sticker that came with the supertraps that said legal in all 50 states and he let me goYou got lucky cause that sticker is only referring to emissions your lucky the cop was a dumb ass and didn't know that each state can set it's db limit much less each town can set a more restrictive db limit

I think a bigger problem than loud exhaust is the problem of people blowing through red lights and red arrows. Man...on 13th it is horrible. Two lights in a row I had a green light for 3 to 5 secs and people were still trying to get through even though their light was red. THAT is a major problem I think.end of rant
It is a problem... and they could fix that problem if they changed the timing of the stop lights. People get so pissed off trying to navigate through Fargo because of the timing of those stop lights.

(Spelling edited by tjamz)Everyone knows it's better to "right" a letter than to "left" a letter.

Oh, I would write a letter to the editor as well about loud exhaust, except I don't have a exhaust on my car... (well I put one on for the car show, but it's not hooked up). Maybe we should try to get open 4" downpipe classified as a approved exhaust.
In reality, I bet that most people with a loud exhaust won't have any problems with the cops unless you are hotrodding around. Drive around like a civilized person and they won't bug you. -
Dave makes a good point that I agree with. On my previous car I didn't have an exhaust on at all and I never once got pulled over. I think the main thing to remember is don't "get on" it when your driving through residential. If I saw someone speeding like that I'd yell at em too and get pissed off. Not really because of the noise, but because I have a 8 yr old and don't want her ran over. People aren't going to complain on main roads like 13th, 45th etc, it's in the neighborhoods where you loosers are "ricing". <wink>

I agree w/ Matt/Dave. One thing I'd like to add: 32nd Ave S is RESIDENTIAL. I can't tell you how many times I've woke up to spinning tires/loud exhausts/bumping stereos. I don't call anyone in, but I do yell at people from time to time (not always import owners)

I agree with the complaints being made thought I live behind west acers mall in one of the many apartments and their are way too many (mostly bicks and pickups ) people that hit the gas and let off hit the gas and let off just to make noise. Some nights I wish I had my dad's 30 od 6 to make a few holes so they wouldn't come back... One POS red crap-o-lier that is louder than fuck and looks like a highschooler driving, I wish would blow the thing up so I could have some piece from that thing.... but yeah if your not reving it like that or rapping them I think you'll be ok, they might go after the bikes that have taken the silencers completely out too hopefully.
