Battlefield 2

Just bought this game yesterday and I'm going to be holed up for awhile playing this one. If you love playing the UT2004 in Onslaught mode (the one with the vehicles and control points to capture) you will love this game. Up to 64 players at a time. Oh yeah, and get ready to be killed.....ALOT. Game is sweet and if you have a pretty fast computer it looks awesome. Extremely fun squad based game. You can run around by yourself but easy pickens might as well be your screen name.
Heres the google search link for Battle Field 2, you can check out the screen shots, info on the game, and other stuff if you haven't seen or read about the game already.

Gotta make sure all your drivers are up to snuff and get the latest patches. Then it stops crashing.

i don't think bf2 is quite the game that bf1942 is... at least, not yet. 1942 has more variations, looks just as good AND more people can play bf1942 (read: it's not as hungry for $$$ hardware).
i've played both, and i haven't touched bf2 since before school started -
The textures arent that impressive on BF2, your video card is important (greater then 24 pipelines, no need for S3.0 support) BF2 is extremely CPU/RAM intensive however. Due to some great encoding. As stated before, it's a broken game - COD2/F.E.A.R are FAR superior games.

do you know ANYTHING about computers and/or graphics cards? NOTHING on the market currently has more than 24 pixel pipelines, and the only one that does have 24 is the 7800gtx (can you say "i can build a pretty decent gaming computer for the price of one of those cards?). do you even know what s3.0 is? vertex or pixel? i am positive that 80+% of the people who buy graphics cards for their computers don't know what s3.0 is.
i haven't tried it yet, but i bet that i can put my agp 6600gt into a machine running an athlon 1700+ with 512mb ddr-ram and still play bf2, doom3, call of duty, warcraft 3, etc. what does that tell you? that most games aren't as processor intensive as you might think. in fact, the only thing that you need a fast processor for is loading quickly, or for serving a game to many players -
you can play any game on any computer. but if u like to fps lag around a map go ahead. i would love to see decent gaming coputer for 500. o and are any of u guys compettive or are u jsut a bunch of public server noobs, do u even know what CAL is get good then come talk to me kthx.

my computer was around $500 when i built it last year. ive upgraded since then, but it was originally a 2800xp processor, gig of pc3200 ram, 128mb geforce 6600gt, 60gb and 160gb hdds, cd drives, and whatever else. granted monitor, keyboard, speakers, etc were extra. you just gotta find good deals.
so what league are you in? open/invite/main? you dont have to be good to be in cal. in fact, most people really arent. ive personally been on public server scrim teams that have completely DESTROYED cal teams in quake 3 and ET.

give me 500 and i will build you something that can play any game on the market right now. like i said, bring your skills to a lan party one week and we'll see just how good you are. my initial argument is/was that you don't know anything about hardware... as well as it's implications in software. when i said that i could build a machine capable of playing any game available right now, i meant with a good framerate. i just built my own gaming machine for 600, and i PROMISE that it will walk all over your bestbuy pc that you paid $1k+ for.

EDITED OUT THE CRAP I AGREED WITHOk, so if I give you $500 you will build me a PC that will player EQ2 w/ all the settings maxed? If you're wrong do I get my $500 back? If so, I'm in...I'll even spot you the monitor, mouse, keyboard, & speakers
