I have a comptuer process running called "Pokapoka78.exe" that whenever I close it, it re-opens. I found were it is located but I can't get rid of a running program!

I cant play FF11 because of this, it is a Internet Explorer add banner, pop up thing. Since I thought it was a Explorer problem I got rid of Internet Explorer, so now it just errors...

How the hell can I get rid of this thing?:(

for free online help try (with IE only, mozilla won't work for this site) housecall.antivirus.com. Once it diagnosis the actual virus name (not the name of the infected file) it will give you detailed instructions on how to get rid of it.

boot into safe mode and try to delete it. (hold/keep pushing f8 when you first turn on your computer)

you could bring it by the nerd cave this weekend, i have couple of operating systems that are on cd's. since you know where the program is, you can boot up an independent operating system to nuke the file from orbit

I have ad-aware, and I have ran it 5 times.. It can't find it.

I'm going to try the safe mode way now, and I don't realy want to delete everything and start over... I would need to spend hours re-updating every thing 😛

I will not let me reboot into safe mode.. I can't even find the option.

I'm running Windows XP Pro, what should I do now?

to get into safe mode you have to hold F8 when you boot up...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

continually press f8 while the machine is booting, if you see the windows splash screen, reboot and try again.
all you need is a cd of knoppix or any of the other linux distributions that are designed to run from a single disc.

Pokapoka78.exe is placed into your computer by PartyPorker. The only way to delete this spyware is to download a program calls HiJack, run the program, and delete whatever that ends in Pokapoka78 or etb. Try using Firefox, and click do not allow website to install software from preference.
