No not talking about a rival site to this site, but just an idea I have been toying around with for awhile.

I want to start a online magazine of sorts for the ND auto/motorcycle scene. Hot rods, street rods, imports, compacts, muscle cars, sport trucks, off road trucks, choppers, sport bikes, etc.

The main focus of the site would be car shows and automotive related events throughout the state and surrounding states/provinces, both promotion and coverage. But I would really like to stick to the theme of the site being a online magazine, and do some features, and maybe follow the buildups of some peoples rides.

I would really like to get the first "issue" out sometime this spring, after the Jamestown, Toppers, and Prime Steel shows.

What I would need now, is name ideas, I was thinking ndcarshows.com or nodakcarshows.com, but sounds kinda bland. Any ideas?

And since I dont get to make it to a lot of shows, although with my 3 day weekends every week I plan on making it to more shows, but could still use some event photographers. Any volunteers?

Also this is kinda the idea I am talking about for online magazine. Well, what their site used to be like, now they seem to have a ton of ads.

    http://www.gaugemagazine.com/

I would also be looking for some feature submissions. And I would also like you guys with sport trucks to speak up because I would like to do a feature on them since they seem to be the minority as far as customization goes in ND.

So let me get your guys thoughts and opinions? If you guys know any other forums I can post this on let me know.

Good luck with it, its a great idea, but it sounds like it requires a TON of work.

Sounds like a great idea. I think we need to get some coverage of events and shows in ND out there seeing how when ever i go any where people think we dont know anything about the scene or actually have one. For instance, i am in Reno, NV right now and talked to some people and the think there would not be any good cars up there.

if you want to do full length articles, and bio's, your gonna need a really good writer, and a lot of time. Your couldn't really get any subscirberers if your gonna do half ass covers on shows and such, since mostly everything in ND/MN that has to do with cars is talked about or atleast mentions on here...
                        Good luck tho!

Need some suggestions for some rides to feature. I guess I dont have too much of a clue in the import and compact scene, not accepted I guess because all I own is "redneck" pickups.

I do know a nice ride when I see one, but need some suggestions from you guys for the who, what, and where they are.

Going through my car show pics of this year, these three cars really caught my eye, but as I recall about the first one he was having some issues with the car and it wasnt complete.

I guess if any of you three are on this site and would want to do a feature, you could PM me and we could work something out.

I would also like nominations from you guys. The only way I am gonna make this happen is if I got the content.

Go to car shows and talk to the owners, or try to contact them, or have a submit your ride thing, where someone e-mails you pics of their car, with some of the things done to it.

Also, keep a variety, not just one type of car/truck.

Im not looking for subscribers. I guess when I mention the "online magazine" everyone assumes Im looking to make money.

It would be totally free. No subscribing, no need to register, nothing like that. Just go to the site and browse.

And while there is a lot of content out there, it would be a really good way to centralize for car shows. Everyone would know one source to get their events advertised, and everyone would know where to look to see what events are going on.

Gotta remember, not everyone knows about sites like fargostreet, imagine if everyone who had an event, on their posters put "for more info and application, go to www.mysite.com" pretty soon it would be the site to go to to see show coverage and to see what shows are going on.

You could do an article on the different clubs around the area, Ground Assault, Veritas, Sweet Dreamz, Combat R Zone, FOMOCOFA, and anyother clubs I may not know about. Say what they are all about like if they are more out for show, race, both, ametuers, car specific clubs. Interview different members and have pics of all the rides from the clubs, see what their plans are for attending shows, races, and other events. Also do something on some of the Major shops around the area Tintmasters, Typr R, Team Electronics, Site On Sound, Roadsounds, Paradise Audio, and other places in the surrounding area. Just some ideas......I would be willing to help you do this if you want help

For the first issue here are my ideas I have been tossing around:

First, the three shows for coverage:

                                    Jamestown Winter Show
                                    Toppers
                                    Prime Steel

And I guess if there are indoor shows that I dont know about nearby, I will cover them too.

I want to do a club profile on Suedes Car Club.

And then I would like some more modern vehicles for features.

I would throw a shop profile into the mix too if I have time. (Shop owners PM me)

Then for future issues, more club profiles, features on specific areas, IE sport bikes, sport trucks, etc. Maybe do garage scene articles, on the guys who got real interesting buildups going on and doing the work themselves, if somebody wanted to do tech articles (leaning more towards tech articles that work across the spectrum of vehicles, like detailing or something).

Mustangdude, if you want to help PM me, thanks.
