road tracks

I there any places I could road race or autocross around here?

I would rather be doing laps around a circuit than going in a sriaght line. once you mess up you never recover in drag racing.

Around here? not really. Auto-X a couple times a year in Fargo/Forks/Minot/Bismarck...other than that MNDOT in St Cloud (get in good with a club and you might be able to still race there), theres a place in Wisconsin that has a track too (Road America??? I think) and Mid America in Ohio (I think...going off memory here) are the closest.

Did you forget Brainerd Chuck? They have a nice road course there as well.

Supposedly there was gonna be one built down near the cities, and near hill city.

yeah, forgot about brainerd.....not sure how often they let cars on the roadcourse there though anymore.

Doesnt canada have some tracks to. Like winnipeg area or something like that. Else they do like the auto cross like we had at the dome. Not sure?

Mid-ohio, is the most realistic place, theres one in wisconsin, but it's mostly Drifiting events that they have there. There is most likely going to be a large amount of Autox's this summer too, maybe 2 a month???

Drifting is starting to hit pretty good. Cant wait til we get same nice drift events going on in fargo a lot more. need a nice track or something

I think either way it is fun. road course maybe puts down more g's but drift gives you the rush

Drifting does not need to be paid for, you live in a climate that has winter. You want a rush, drift thru 5pm traffic on a monday.

Actually we are planning a Trip out to Cali for a week or so late summer for a road course long weekend at the streets of willow, and then one in the middle of the summer to mid ohio, it's expensive, but a blast.

Yeah i think road racing will be more fun than drifting, becuae of the stupid people that are being associated with it now

And the autox, yeah i do believe that may be a tentative, but there will Proboably be a few a month, that's all i got now.

Sliding your ass around on icy roads does not constitute "drifting". Drifting is the art of being at the edge of control on a dry surface whilst engaging in a series of slides. If drifting were as easy as most people think, the competitors would just buy the hardest, non-gripping tires they could find and use them. However, most of them use very sticky tires as they need to have the traction on demand.
