What schultzy is saying is that you should just stick with what you have right now until you can afford the big power instead of spending more money for a small upgrade(well actually in this case you lose power) hes not telling you to buy a blower right now and shit hes telling you to save your money for when you CAN afford it...and seriously his father is pretty respected...
I allready know his father is respected, I have heard great thing about him, but just becuase HE could get an LT1 with high comp to safely run boost for a long time doesn't mean that I , or 95% of the F-body community can.I agree totally with saving till I can afford big power. However, what he is suggesting is a large leap/commitment that would require constant money to be on hand for this project. I am trying to keep this proeject reliable for now till I can afford to be throwing tons of money at it. Going through the pharmacy program is not cheap, especially when I'M the one footing all the bill. I would rather have a car that I can enjoy in the summer, that is in good condition, and is faster than 99% of the cars on the road. I've had constant work on it for 2 years, I would like to enjoy this car the way it is for once.
Yes nitrous isn't super reliable, yes a high reving H/C set up isn't too reliable either, but both are MUCH more reliable than any for of boost on the car.

yup exactly...i think you just answered your own question...save your money until you can actually go big...you have decent power now so why spend more to lose power? kinda makes sense to me...just wait until the time is right to drop big bank on your car so you can do it right...dont just do somethin small now...remember its always hard to save up for your big goal if you keep spending the money you have on small things that arent needed at the time...

So far, I've only been buying the best of the best as far as purchases go. I am awesome at saving up money (bought this car, cash, when I was 16 working on 5.15 an hour). Everything purchase for it is the best you can get.
If I were to go all out with this car, I don't know IF I would go with nitrous, I probably would go FI. Either way, ported heads and a new cam/valvetrain fit into that equation.
Maybe I should just leave the nitrous, save up for a long time AGAIN and get a NICE h/c/valvetrain set up, and spray a small shot (50 or so) till I can afford to rebuild it.

I guess. But If I sold the nitrous, I probably would want to do FI if I upgraded, simply because I would like to try something different.I see your point, I guess I just wanted a car that would be fun to drive off the bottle as well as on.
Better start saving/selling kidneys.

I guess there is no hope for you. You foot the bills for the rebuild, and I'll pay to blow it.Not all of us can have a HOLIER THAN THOU, JOHN FORCE SUCK MY CACK father. What are you trying to say? I should boost it because YOUR father could tune it right and make it work, even though YOUR FATHER IS A GOD AMONGST MECHANICS?
What does that leave me, the average joe, 99% of the world who can't hold a candle to your father, with?
You make no sense whatsoever.
Sorry if I came off on the holier than thou, john force suck my cack wagon, just trying to share the little I know from learning from my dad and through my own experiences. Good luck on your build, I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Thanx Tony. And yes, he would be considered a God if he desired that kind of recognition you dumb fuck. Jesus Christ. Save your God Damn money and get something worth while. I don't give a fuck how much the pharmacy programs costs, if you don't have the money to get what you really want in the long run , then don't fuckin' spend any. There, did that spell it out better? Opinion wanted, opinion stated. Best of luck.

Still drunk or do you just get angry very easily?Did you read my posts at ALL?
If I make the words larger, will you then actually understand what I'm saying?
Should we give that a try? Peachy. Here it goes.
PORTED HEADS, A NEW CAM, AND AN UPGRADED VALVETRAIN ARE SOMETHING WORTH WHILE. IT WOULD BE STUPID TO REBUILD AN ENGINE (IN THE LONG RUN, BECUASE THATS ALL YOU SEEM TO BE FOCUSING ON) AND LEAVE THESE ASPECTS STOCK. IT WOULD YEILD THE SAME HP, FOR CHEAPER, THAN A SUPERCHARGER SYTEM, AND WOULDN'T BE AS HARD ON MY ENGINE.
SO YOUR OPINION IS, TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON A SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM THAT MOVES VERY LITTLE AIR, WILL ALMOST REQUIRE A FULL REBUID SOON (OF COURSE, UNLESS YOU OR YOUR FATHER OWNED THE CAR, IT'S A SHAME THEY DON'T), AND WILL REQUIRE AN UPGRADE IN THE NOT TO DISTANT FUTURE.
There, that said, I'm sorry we had to argue. Can you hug me now?

I see your opinion, it just is not the best option to spend more money on a system that is harder on my engine, and will need a certain upgrade in the future.
The system I would be going with would only need a cam upgrade to lower the comp, wich is only a couple hundred dollars as apposed to a $1000+ unit. -
I personally would build a cheap as possible motor running super high compresion (cheaper over the long run vs. a supercharger) but running race gas.
not one of his optionsIf I were you I would go all out, but that is me.
stated he didnt want to go all outI'm saying blower not because it is simply twice the price or something like that, but because it has a sweet payoff if done right
he stated he dont have the money to do it rightAll I'm really saying is seriously consider what you are really trying for in the end and put NO time limits on reaching those goals
his goals are 400RW with reliability!I don't give a fuck how much the pharmacy programs costs, if you don't have the money to get what you really want in the long run , then don't fuckin' spend any.
um, he stated @ 400RW is what he wanted, u r the one telling him to go all outSorry if I came off on the holier than thou, john force suck my cack wagon, just trying to share the little I know from learning from my dad and through my own experiences.
so how many 500$ motors with blowers actually made it to running status? -
Yeah smartass I read your posts. You just really pissed me off with the john force comment. You wanted an opinion you got it.

I will vouch for Sweet-WRX-Lovin's dad being a mechanical genious. He is one of very few people that I would ever trust to do work on a V8 of mine. So maybe, instead of everyone ripping on Steve for his comments, they should contact his father (Dick Schulz of Schulz Engine & Machine, Harvey, ND 701-324-2573) and find out what he would recommend and how he would go about doing it. I know Dick well enough to think that he would at least point you in the right direction, I also know him well enough to not come across as a smart ass as he would probably just dismiss you as a dumbass and not give any advice. However, should you decide to talk with him and bring an open mind to the table, you would be rewarded with a vast amount of knowledge and a potential friend in the V8 world. No sense jumping on Schulzy here for providing his input on what he would do (even if it was outside the parameters set forth in the original question)

I never said ANYTHING bad about your father, at all. I never doubted your fathers experience. I have heard good things about him.Go back and read what I actually said. I said what do you want me to do,average joe, who does have a father who is a god amongst small blocks, and could get a supercharger to work on a STOCK, key word, STOCK LT1 for an extensive period of time. I say this, because there are small block builders all over the country having this problem. I am no mechanic or engine builder, yet you expect me to not have a problem with this set up.
I pissed you off with the john force comment, I'm sorry, but you upseted me with not listening to a word I said.
Now, when can I get that hug?
-
LoL, tomorrow. I smell like whiskey and cigarettes today. I love superchargers, if I ever get divorced I'm going to marry one. Didn't say you wouldn't have problems with the setup, just that's what I would do. Of the two choices you stated actually: I vote for H/C setup. Safe, fun, good times.

I would also like to add that I am sorry for being such a dickhead. I was running on about 8 hours sleep in 3 days. I'll just try to keep my big mouth shut when I'm that tired from now on.

It's ok, I appreciate the input, even if it doesn't look like I did.
