Sorry if this gets graphic, but I am EXTREMEMLY pissed right now. I got home today, just waiting to get online and order some stuff for my car, and my mom tells me I got dropped by state farm as of April 1st. They gave me some "High Risk" option But I don't really feel like bending over and taking it in the ass any harder than they are already giving it to me. My explanation for being dropped is as follows
-You have accumulated 2 minor speeding tickets, and have been in 3 accidents in the time you have been insured with us.

2 of the acidents were no fault of my own where my insurance company didn't have to pay ANYthing.

I don't know if all insurance companies are this gay but this doesn't seem right. They pretty much left me with 3 options, 1.put fire/storage insurance on my car, and buy another car and pay for insurance on that one as well. 2. Pay 300 plus dollars a month for car insurance on a car that gets driven 10 miles per day. OR 3. Sell my car.

If I can't find a beater I am pretty much forced to sell my car, since I can't afford that insurance, and The bank won't just let me take insurance off my car since there's a loan on it.

Is there any way to change your residency to ND? It will save you a ton on car insurance and since you work in North Dakota, you'd get a big tax break as well.

Honda's are ridiclously expensive to ensure to start w/, your age and driving record isn't gonna help the case @ all. You might now run into problems finding a company that will even insure you. I ran into the same problems years ago after i was dropped from State Farm due to tickets. Progressive has been the best rates of anyone i've found for someone w/ a bad driivng record.

One of the reasons that they are expensive to insure is because of all of the ones that get stolen. I've had good luck with Farmers ins. You may want to try them.

State Farm has been good to me. I've only had 2 speeding tickets (small ones too) in ~ 12yrs. Both in the Audi's - nothing in the slow ass Supra. Go figure...

sorry to say this but biggest thing you have against you is that you are young. On top of that, you have had a high frequency of incidents. Me, been insured with State Farm since i was 15, had a speeding ticket within 3 months of getting my lisence, but didn't effect my insurance. Had a speeding ticket 6 1/2 years later, then my accident a month afterwords, and I still have no problems with them. Ill be 23 in may, and I only pay $94 a month on the RSX, thats full coverage with rental car insurance too (learned after my accident). But if you neglect your insurance coverage (no matter if it is your fault or not, they dont like you being in the wrong place at the wrong time) a lot within a short amount of time, ESPECIALLY when you are young (I mean anyone under 25, mostly anyone under 18/21), you will pay out the ass.

Your not even 18 yet, I assume you didn't get your license until you were 16, so have been driving only 2 years, 3 accidents and 2 speeding tickets is a bad sign to the insurance agents. I'm not flaming you at all, your cool and all, but this is what they look at for their business perspective.

All in all, start shopping around, but with this much of a record, itll be hard to find another company to have a lower premium, let alone, even take you as a risk (we are all risks to them. PERIOD)

                          Ry

PS...I know this because of all my buddies who have had similar instances. Consider my friend who drives a 65 Mustang, got a speeding ticket on N. University doing 60 (actually was doing 70, but the cop was nice). He lost his license (his first incident too), and his insurance sky rocketed (I mean, they wanted $4000 for six months on the Mustang)....needless to say, he walked, got rides from friends for the rest of high school before driving and getting insurance again. He was only a Sophomore at the time.

Country Insurance. Go in and talk to Brad Fleming. Actually, a good way to save your ass from paying to much is move to ND and get a ND drivers license THEN talk to an agent. Odds are they will only pull your ND record and if you are clean over here they may give you a normal rate.

I am also with country insurance. Best rates in town and brad and his wife terry. I think thats her name along with the other guy that works there are all great to deal with.I have never had any problems with them. The claims adjuster for them who is brent is an asshole though. I suppose it's part of his job. I would also switch to nd license. When you go fill out the paper work list it that you had no prevous accidents or moving violations. Your record should then be clean. It was for many of my friends. Then learn to drive normal and you will get great rates.

you will still need collateral, chances are he would have to use his car as collateral and if so then he would still need to have insurance on it.

I have Country through Brad Fleming also and they were the lowest rates out of the 20 quotes that i got. Ever since ive been working at a body shop i now realize how screwed some insurance companies are. Some companies dont blend panels, some companies use A/M parts and recycled parts only (unless there forced to use OEM). Just a few suggestions to ask your agent. I know that progressive does not blend panels in certain situations. Ive seen some progressive cars leave here looking like shit because they wouldnt allow us to blend the panels. In my oppinion i would check out country, and deffinetely stay far away from American Family. Good luck...
