Ok well not an instant spike, but as it grew gradually higher, hte bigger the operation grew and the authorities gradually grew suspicion

I doubt the electric bill did them in. More then likely some that work there got pissed off.

I would have used generators if the electric bill got to a certain point. Im pretty sure whoever ran that pot farm. Had some way of ripping off the system.
