D1 396 with AFR's is a 650-700 rwhp car without the nitrous.....I think the TA guy was pulling his leg. Thats an easy mid 10 second car off the juice.

    Nice.

I figure either his suspension wasn't set up for it or he really wasn't launching it hard... Should come off the line harder than that (wheels up) off a trans brake.

My car was seriously detuned for this show i was pulling lots of timing a very small air filter and i had my 2 step at 2300 i usually launch at 4200. I took the car down the track after I won it. That car was no joke the guy just couldn't drive.

to give you an idea how fast that was I had a tune in the car to run about 10.7 for the first two the last race was a low ten or high nine in the low 140s.

I think we ended up at 578 or something detuned as far as possible without burning up the car we tried to cut even more but the headers were glowing to the point you could see through them if we pulled any more timing with that tune we took it to an 1/8th mile track and made some passes before the show and it ran what we figured would be 10.7 in the 1/4.

        quotes from TA owner^^^^

Not based off of modifications in any way!!! Based purely off of the weight to power ratio the kid in the civic SHOULD have been able to put up a damn good fight, if not even beat the guy. But the kid is a fat fuck that can't drive worth a shit. I'd like to thank him and his whiney little bitch friends for setting the import world back 20 years on national television. Lets face it, the way that the kid was acting is the way that most of the muscle car group sees us, so when he goes on national television asking for 20 car lengths, whining about everything, and trying to make every excuse in the world all he did was reinforce their beliefs.

If anyone else would like to thank this retard his cell number is 443-604-5171. Ahhhh, I love the internet.

When he lost his car he had cried so much and had nervous breakdown so they had to take him to the hospital.

He should have actually gone to the track and had some practice driving and maybe a little bit of practice street racing some real deal cars before he went and bet his entire car on it... what a dumbass

from what i gathered. wherever this kid came from they hadnt lost a streetrace yet with that car. there is a vid somewhere of it. he knew he wasnt the greatest driver so he brought a pro driver to drive for him, but once he seen that the TA had 2 of em, they wanted owners to drive.
oh well, next tiem an import is on there, hopefully they bring a lil more and dont whine the entire show

the kid didn't seem SO bad, just his friends egging him on mainly. Where ever he's from, he probably owns the local streets with a high 11 second car. so he thinks he's invincable.

                    no race car? becuz homeowner...

yes, the car is supposedly undefeated on the street, BUT, the kid is an increadible liar. If you go to honda tech, click search, enter "94lsvtecturbocivic" into creator, the click the "post bodies" button you will see all the shit he has said about the show.

He claims the car is undefeated on the street. He claims that the first time he had driven it was on the show. He claims conflicting shit constantly.

And no, I haven't heard anything about him going to the hospital.

found on the camaroz28 boards posted by the owner of the trans am:

"What they didn't show was the former owner collapsing to his knees when I took his car down the track and yes he was crying. They had to take the kid to the hospital that evening he basicly had a nervous breakdown. I did feel bad and sold him the car back two days later for less than it was worth but enough that he felt some pain. but not untill i ragged it on the dyno. I seriosly hope the kid doesn't kill himself the ricer boys are dogging him bad on the boards."

I still think this should have easily gone to the TA driver. He had a built track car with a good amount more TQ, and was rwd. all of that is advantage Trans Am. All this vs a well built all around car, but not as at home at the track.

what a puss 20 lengths and slicks.

new driver and slicks the first pass from 0 lenghts and no nitrous would of been good race IMO

hmm, if I was that kid, I would of let the pro-driver drive too; how was he forced to drive? lost must not of understood something in there or something.
