not sure if that is all that was wrong so i figured just order a jdm motor and put it in and since this motor had NOS ran in it i figured may as well start fresh.

the person we bought it from must not have been to mechanically inclined or was just a good liar because he said the only reason he brought it to a shop was to have the oil changed but when it was running infront of his house there was some bad smoke coming out of the exhaust and then there is no temp sensor hooked up and we brought it to a gas station down there, and there was no oil in it, and not much coolant so we filled it up and headed back to devils lake, and by the time we hit hillsboro there was a lot of white smoke just rolling out of the hood sowe let the car cool off and then drove to grand forks where i had a friend of ours from devils lake come with a car trailer to pick us up in forks and bring it back to devils Lake.

LOL... I feel bad for you that you baught that car. The guy you got it from... Shane is a moron, he could fuck up changing his own oil. I would expect other problems with the car too, because when he told me about it, it sounded like it should have been junked.

I just hope it isn't a money pit for you, but yet it is a probe and sofar I haven't found one that hasn't been a money pit.

yeah i hope it isnt a money pit but i bought the car cheap enough that i figured that if i just basically started over with putting a new engine in and have the tranny and everything fixed, my wife loves the way the car looks and when we bought it the front bumper was broke but i fiberglassed that and brought it to a shop to get painted but if we just fix everything that could go wrong before it does it shoudl not be too bad

Shane did not fuck the car up. Previous owner (ahmar aljezeer ossama bin derka derka) fucked it up. Good Idea on getting a new motor although the nitrous never worked or atleast not when shane had it.

Shane is not mechanically inclined at all. No offense to him about anything but I dont think he could even change his own oil if told how to do it. He never sprayed at all cuz it never was hooked up since he bought the car. THe wireing for all the gauges etc was a mess and you could tell the wires got hot cuz when we pulled most of them out they were melted together. He seriously thought there was nothing wrong with it. Also be careful because its not a true short shifter in it. The shifter is actually sawed off. It prolly will need a new clutch very soon also considering his fiance(sp) drove it and she didnt know how to drive stick at the time. lots of riding the clutch.

If you dont mind you should PM me what you paid for it...I know what he paid for it

Yes it is a mazda motor JDM, the clutch does not seem too bad in it,but i am gonna look at it when i get the tranny off, i do know that shane did not use the spray because there was no bottle, but it was actually hooked all the way up i saw that, i am debating on getting a new engine harness on there also because there is no engine temp sensor, and all the clips for all the sensors are broke, i do know that it will take some work to make it decent again but i have been ordering a lot of parts for it but i still dont think it will turn into a money pit. My Grand Am is a Money Pit. and i was not saying shane fucked up the car, he seemed like a nice person and he did go down in price when we told him the car was shooting smoke out and that it probably needed a lot of engine work. I will post more pics when i get the tranny off and get the new motor in, it is coming out of california and they told me by the end of the week i should have it, and the front bumper will be done on monday. thanks for all the replys i really appreciate it.

This sounds like the definition of a money pit. I went through some crap with my Probe due to past owners and general maintenance issues. Your situation sounds a lot worse than mine was though. I love Probes, and I think once you get things straightened out you or whoever will be driving it most will love it too. However, replacing the engine, main engine harness, and possibly the clutch in such a short span of time sounds pretty shitty to me. I hope you got a killer deal on this car. 😞

yeah it was not too bad of a deal i guess for a 1995 with the body kit and rims and coil overs and stuff and it was $2000 so i dont think i twas too bad.

and everything is there for the NOS if i want to use it other than a bottle, i did get a really good deal on engine and stuff. I probably could have just replaced a couple things on the engine that was in it for cheaper than the new engine, but i figured i would just want to start over so now if i need some parts i have a spare engine. I am not sure if it needs a new clutch yet but i might do it just because i have everything out. I figured i should do all this stuff right away to try avoid future problems. No big deal lol.
