    well i am wanting to put the video we took in chicago and HIN onto DVD.
    what is the best way to make this happen?
    do i buy the hardware and do it myself or is there someone out there who does this for a living or on the side?

    please help me out here

          No its way more complicated, he stated earlier that he used Hi8 to recorde it not MiniDV.

          You will have to have a capture card, and capture the video (as its recorded analog not digital).

              your are correct Jim. in another thread i made reference to this and it was a VHS-C camcorder that was used not hi-8, but same thing as it is not digital.

                not ot hijack thread but, where is the best place in town to buy a firewire? i found them on the internet for 3$ to upwards of 12. anything special that i need to look for?

                    walmart is the bomb for firewire cords....for some reason that place is the cheapest

                      thanks guys i am gonna head up there soon.
                      on sony.com i found them for 3$ walmart was next for 10$, then all the others were @20 and up
