I don't see the "Coolness" factor that the guy pulled off. All he did was prove that he had enough skill to mash the gas and turn the steering wheel. It would be like Dave doing that in front of a group of muscle car owners.
No one doubts that V8's can make power, they've proven that time and time again. What did he prove or accomplish in his feat? Nothing we didn't already know. The only reason its "cool" when we watch imports beating a muscle car is because its nice to see that sometimes technology and finesse can overcome brute strength.

Time and Time again, we see some of the newer V8s proving to show torque and hp #'s..
However, I've personally been to the track and watch v8s make 16-17 second passes, these granted being older v8s, that are probably much heavier, but still, some of those same old v8s are capable of 10s/11s/and so forth..
So now, we have small compact vs v8s present day..
Well now the present-day v8s are more light-weight than before, EFI, and other tuning devices, but same w/ the sport compacts.
8 is more than 4 however you look at it..
but.. when 4 beats 8
the owner of the 4 is probably having a sweet victory smile
