it takes a horrible event for most places to get on the news in the US. All we hear about is stupid murders and natural disasters and scandals and this and that, and politics. We dont ever hear about local heros and good citizens and donations and shit.

Yep, this is why I don't watch any of the typical evening new shows. They are a slanted pos that only shows the ugly side of everything.
