Need some help with my old TA
-
Anyone know any good shops that could help me diagnose the problems with my 79 Trans AM. It has a Olds 403 with a bunch of mods that just isn't running right. I need the opinion of someone who knows something about these engines. Any help would be great, cause I am really confused and depressed that this car I have a ton of money into, just won't run right.

E-Mail Steve at [email protected] with your TA questions. He is an older mechanic, works at a dealership... he has had a lot of TA's from those years and is restoring one right now. He knows a lot about them and would enjoy helping you out.

Well, the problem has been narrowed down to the cam, it either set wrong or way to big. I don't have the knowledge or the money to deal with it, so I am just going to sell the car. I baught a new camaro anyways.

No one is going to see it until the new engine is done, but I got to find another LT1, before I can start.I hope I can get $2500 for the TA. Engine has like 2K miles on it, but as noted has the cam problem, has a performer intake, brand new headers, brand new true dual exhaust, all new ignition parts, and tons of other engine parts. Body is a straight rust free California car, minor damage to passenger fender and nose cone, but have parts to fix it. It just needs to be finished. Hell of a nice car and a really clean body.

Did you degree the cam when installing it?I didn't install it, was done by some shop the previous owner brought it to. I am guessing that it wasn't degreed or something. It wasn't driveable when I got it, so I couldn't really check the driving condition of it out, but it ran really good.

Ya can't even tell us the type of Camaro??, year, color or anything, im very curious...Well I said before I am looking for a LT1 for it, so that will give you a idea of the body style. I figure this one I will keep to myself until its finished.
But gotta sell the CRX first.Mike
