    just wanna get a feel if I wanna turbo or not. My question is, has anybody experienced problems in turboing their n/a? problems im referring to their tranny going out?

              theres a kid n valley that has a turbod rsx runs 13s cant get traction for shit tho...

                Turbos are the way to go. And the fix for traction problems are slicks and gear based boost control.

                      You already know my opinion on it, but if you want high power, turbo is the way to go. With these engines, Id rather see it supercharged with the comptech, great power and high reliability. By the way, you still going to by my CAI? just wondering.

                        Why is a supercharger more reliable than a turbo? You're feeding -hotter- air in with a supercharger than you are with a turbo, which is -very- prone to detonation. That, and you're not going to make near as much power..

                            From what I have read from others with the K20's and turbos, they have had problems with reliability with turbos and high power. Havn't seen much problems with the supercharger on them, mainly because you are limited to how much power you can get with them (no more power above 11psi). Looks like it is just the way the engine is designed. I know that the supercharger is more reliable mainly because Comptech, Jackson Racing, and Vortech all stand behind their opinion of it not effecting factory warranty, unless the system is tinkered with. No "turbo kit" has writen statement saying that it wont effect warranty. Either system feeds hot air into the system. Compressed gas heats up. Thats why both systems have some type of coolers available too (at least comptech has an aftercooler coming out if not already).

                            All in all, it is just a matter of opinion and experience. I have yet to see any factory or aftermarket turbo'd engine have the long lasting reliability of a supercharged one. Im not saying that I dont like turbos, hell, I miss the dsm I had, but im just saying with this engine, the supercharger is going to be more of a streetable choice, especially if you dont want to have high maintence.

                            Kenn, do what you want. You want power, you'll be happy with a turbo. Just check out ClubRSX.com before this site because there arn't many DC5 owners on here. You'll get more experience and opinions with these vehicles from owners on that site. Every vehicle behaves differently with modifications.

                              Thanks for all the replies. I have already checked up clubrsx.com and posted the same questions. They said all their trannys burned out after a few months even guys who cryoed their trannys. however a lot of them said their tranny was still working fine. I personally think it depends on how you run the car on a daily basis. Its a tough decision on what i want to do. I would like to turbo, but for all the power i want, i would be spending a lot of money. Supercharger is more daily driving friendly and a lot cheaper, but my power hungry young whipper snapper attitude wants to go big or go home. ITs tough to decide what i want to do. I am still thinking about that CAI Ryan.

                              Nick how long you been driving the gsr with that much power? how many miles as well?
